My Bible Lettering Challenge Day 1-7

in #steempress4 years ago

Since my husband bought me an iPad and a pen, I had been trying out calligraphy and lettering in digital form. I guess I had been using the iPad for more than a year now. I purchased an app called Procreate and I had been digitally lettering on it from then on.

Last April, I tried to join a 30-Day Bible Lettering Challenge. I was tagged by a church friend and thought I should try joining. It was my first time but I was already 10 days late. As a result, I was only able to make 21 out of 30.

It was a challenge keeping it for three weeks because I have to think of the layout and the design and all but I was glad that I was able to make it to day 21. I hope to be able to join in the future again. For now, I am going offline with the traditional actual brush calligraphy and perhaps if time permits, I can join again in the next months.

I hope you'll enjoy the timelapse video and inspire you to also join this type of challenge if you are into lettering or calligraphy. Here's the video:

This is the first of three series.

Here are the seven verses where these letterings were derived from:

Day 1: Matthew 17:20
“For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you."

Day 2: 1 Thessalonians 5:11
“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”

Day 3: Psalm 18:2
“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”

Day 4: John 15:16
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.”

Day 5: Psalm 62:5
“For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.”

Day 6: Matthew 5:14
"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

Day 7: 1 Corinthians 13:4
“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant”

I used the Procreate application for this and had posted each image on my Instagram account @jbfwritings, I hope you can follow me! Let me know your thoughts about the timelapse!

Take care and God bless!
