The dawn light filtered into the windows of the training hall spilling upon the broad floor. The room was lightly furnished with sturdy crafted chairs and benches in various styled carving and inlay. A few cabinets and chests stored for the purpose of the large room. The marble floor has seen wear from well over a century of arms training. Upon the wall hung a variety of weapons, swords, knives, pole arms, and the like.
With arms crossed Mario leaned back in his chair against the wall, "Giovanni, it's been a few hours perhaps you both can have a break."

"You're not trying hard enough!" Giovanni urged his daughter on. The short sword in her right hand felt unwieldy as is her skirt feeling bothersome and hindering her legs in finding the balance between optimal fighting distance, proper stance to effectively attack or defend, and maintain an agile posture to react to her opponent's movements.

Women often naturally attack by stealth, relying sometimes seductive means but all the same whether by poison or blade. There will eventually be the situation where she may have to fight her way out and such tales speak of the severe consequences of capture will suffer a fate worse than death.

"Come at me again!" With his free hand Giovanni motioned her to attack. "Think back at what happened to your Momma!"

She focused on her past drawing on memories of pain and the foundation of her anger upon those responsible. In her mind she set aside the comforts of the pleasurable life as a Roma courtesan, combat is a serious matter and a necessary skill to obtain.

She mentally grasped the image, T’was the night of the long knives when the bribed gate keeper let pass the figures that apprehended first her father and mother from their bed. The baseless words accusing them of acts of sedition against the Khazarian kingdom resonated in the hall with the clamor of arms and armor.

“Papa!” Screamed Taska as she saw her father's face bruised and bleeding, they forced him upon his knees next to her.
“Stay calm Taska.” Her father stared at the familiar faces among his captors, a foriegner he knew, "I know you, I let you in our home because you and your families were in need, We welcomed you, I offered you hospitality more than enough to see you safe and now you pay me back with this treachery?"

The man could only look away. A college gave him a push, "Keep your wits with you and do your job!"
"Stop it, please just leave my wife, my family alone!" Begged her father.
Then she heard the muffled screams of her Momma as the door of master's Chambers swung opened, strangers filed out of the bed chamber dragging her Momma out bound and night clothes torn open. They knelt her in front of Papa.
The Adjudicator steps in front of her parents and opens a letter.
"Grigory Menine, you are charged for acts of treason and sedition against the King you have been stripped of title and ordered the death penalty!" Without even looking at her father he nodded to a man she had seen before. "You are the new Noble of Menine Sir do as you wish with the rest of the family."
Papa protested, "What charges? I am Lord Menine and legally entitled to a trial!"
The man grinned in delight and in an act of cruelty the man stepped behind Momma, grabbed her long hair and drew his sword.
"No!" Papa Begged.
Taska screamed as his blade pierced out from between her Momma's naked breasts.

Her fair brown doe eyes reduced to a piercing gaze.
A low growl reverberated from under her breath.
Claudia felt her energy peak, her emotions charged into every fiber of her body, her mind clear and focused expanding time and space into a single act. Her instincts and senses also expanded many fold filling the large room of her very being. She slowly lifts the front of her skirt again.
The birds outside chirped at the rising sun.
A pair of flies buzzed against the distant east stained glass window.
Mario tilts his chair a slight forward with a faint creak.

Giovanni felt a chill in the room. In the blink of an eye he felt the dark mass strike square into his chest sending his body crashing into the wall, knocking the wind out of him with the force of a raging bull.
Shocked at the attack Mario rushed over to his brother's side.
"God's!" Gasped Giovanni. "Did you see that?" as he struggled out of his protective cuirass and threw it aside.
"I did." Mario lifted up the useless cuirass.
The front breast plate was buckled in.
A clear indentation marked where the wooden sword struck almost piercing the armor.
Giovanni felt groggy as he labored on to his feet, "Good god ...cough... Mario... my chest....would have...cough cough... been crushed!"
Both men turned their eyes to their sixteen year old girl. Her panting now slowing to a normal rhythm, pupils no longer constricted. The remains of a broken hilt still grasped in her right hand.
Giovanni composed himself to look proud upon his Claudia, "Are you hurt my dear?"
