Hello Steemit Friends,

The ability to embrace people around us is essential to building a stronger relationship. You don't need skills to humble yourself around people. Learn to leave with people around you by understanding their personalities, attitudes, and behavior. Don't take things too personally, most of the times the issues are not you but them.

You sometimes have encountered a situation on your hood, you accidentally bump into your neighbor, and the next thing he/she does is yelling. โ€œ Watch your steps man! โ€œ It is hard not to take that situation personally. He calls you names, he makes it more violent in his words. You don't know this; it might be that your neighbor was just laid off from a job he has been working on over decades. He might be finding it hard and worried how he's going to provide for his family who maybe considers his as the breadwinner. Him yelling had nothing to do with you. Always train your mind to see good in every situation.

It happens that You're dating a girl/ a guy who doesn't trust you. He/she keeps distance. You try to worthy his/her trust, but nothing makes a difference. You don't know this, but before you met him/her, he has been lied cheated and betrayed. You begin to learn nothing is personal when you try to understand the history that occurred before they encountered you.

Here are some few basics that can help you in embracing people around you.

Become a Good Listener

That neighbor you encountered perhaps needed someone who would have listened to him. We all have a desire to be heard and to be understood. Listening is a potent tool, but unfortunately, it is not well utilized. If we all mastered this tool, there would be less of therapists need. We create a bond with people around us when we learn to listen to them.

Ask Better Questions

Communication is a critical skill that most people pay little attention to. Asking better questions opens up more trust with people close to us. By asking people right questions, we learn each other's perspectives. Learn to understand people before making any wrong judgment which can make you end up making it worse than it was. It also reduces the level of conflicts and tension with people around you. This deepens relationships and puts you in a position where people around you would want to seek out and talk to.

Pay attention to people.

Build a healthy relationship with people around you means, paying close attention to them. When a friend approaches you with a situation, avoid other distractions. Make an effort to pay attention to what they have to say. Always remember the preferences of the people around you. If your neighbor dislikes loud music, try not to irritate them. We tend to appreciate those who appreciate us. Learn to sayโ€ Hiโ€ to people around you. This tells them how much you care for them. Notice when someones words don't change much his/her facial expression. Focus on building a strong relationship. It will make a friend free to share a more in-depth conversation with you because they trusted you.

Manage Emotions

People are different. Some peoples mood swings from cold to hot abruptly pushes people away. Regardless of what runs in our minds. Always train yourself to manage the emotions of others. Learn to ask and listen. Openness can clear things up.

Be Genuine and humble

When you want the best for your friend, it builds a great relationship. Don't gossip about others. Keep what you are told confidential. Being humble does not mean you're weak. No! It makes people comfortable to be around you. It creates an atmosphere where people feel free to tell you their situations.

No one is born with an ability to embrace or to develop relationships with others. It is a matter of mastering and learning to understand others. No one is born perfect, we all have flaws. We become better and live peaceful by building strong relationships with people around us.

Thank you for this great advice @suerisue, you seem like a really kind and genuine person.

Thank you !!

Hi Suzana,

It's hard not to feel like all of this is getting worse... people are listening less... people are less empathetic, people are more selfish, etc etc, so it is lovely to have these kinds of reminders that society only works if we're nice to each other... and being calm and kind is the easiest path to a happy life.

Being kind and love yourself is so important !!. Nevertheless, people around us needs nurture as well. As we enjoy being loved.. giving love back shows how humanly we are. :)

I definitely agree with you that Understanding is the key. By mastering and learning it, we could adapt easily and be patient enough to handle any situations. :)

:) Keep on learning

So true! You never know what could be going on in anotherโ€™s person life at the moment - a good thing to keep in mind if you have an unpleasant encounter,

Unpleasant encounters will pass !! Everyone has experienced that. It is totally okie and very normal. Keep your spirit in a good place and i believe that life will bring you wonderful things.
