in Pinmapple2 years ago (edited)

Hello dear friends, I hope you are doing well. Today I come to tell you about a tour I did to the outskirts of Bogota, I will explain how I traveled there, the expenses and of course the places I visited.

The tour was done with the guys from ABORDA TOUR, I have already done tours with them, and I always recommend them. This tour cost 95,000 Colombian pesos or 25 US dollars per person, with the payment of this value they offer you round trip transportation, typical breakfast, entrance to the CASA LOCA and the Guatavita Lagoon, insurance and guide, you can reserve your place by paying 30% of the total value and although they are pet friendly, I do not recommend you to take your furry because the attractions mentioned (CASA LOCA and GUATAVITA LAGOON) you will not be able to enter them, it is for this reason that Sago (my dog) did not accompany me this time.

The tour started at 6:30 am, the company coordinates a meeting point with the assistants and goes looking for them in it, our breakfast was on the road that connects Sopo and Bogota, in a place called La Bufalera Santandereana. We ate a delicious rib broth, hot rice, and hot chocolate. It is a nice place with tables inside and outside.

We continued to Guatavita, the first stop was at LA CASA LOCA. This is a new tourist attraction, and it turns out to be a house that is upside down, literally upside down, also inside everything is upside down. Being new this attraction has a lot of demand so it is recommended to arrive at 7 or 8 am, they open at 9 am, however people are lined up from before. At 10:30 am the tickets for the whole day had already been sold, you enter in groups of 15 people, so you will have to wait for your group's turn. While you can eat some delicious German sausages, try the ice cream, strawberries with cream, traditional desserts, buy some handicrafts or simply lie down on the grass to talk. This attraction is super innovative, it is not very big inside, but it is definitely a very nice experience.

Before entering, the person gives you indications about the biosecurity protocols and explains that the house is tilted so you may feel dizzy or feel like you are failing at times. Everything inside the house is upside down, beds, tables, chairs, bathroom, fireplaces, lamps, etc., the staff that guides you tells you how to take the pictures so you can give the effect that you are upside down, they are very kind and patient when taking the pictures, it is a very funny experience to see how everything in the house hangs from what for us, would be the ceiling. Even more fun is to see the result of the photos.

Then, we headed to the Cacique Guatavita Lagoon, but at the moment of entering we had to turn back because the capacity was full. It is worth mentioning that the guys from the tour company returned the entrance fee to the lagoon to each person. Because of this, we went directly to the town of Guatavita. This town is small, which causes curiosity as all the houses are white with red tile roofs most of them, I do not know if it is a municipal ordinance, however, it looks beautiful. In the town you can visit the Indigenous Museum, the entrance has a value of 2000 thousand pesos, and they explain the history of the town which highlights the fact that it was in another place and was moved to where it is now, also explain the indigenous legends of the area, the most beautiful The Legend of El Dorado, in which they say that the young aspiring cacique was bathed in honey and gold dust and submerged in the lagoon, which became golden color to spread the gold that the young man had in his body.
