When I made the post telling my travel goal, which is to visit at least one place in each province of Argentina, I still had no idea how much Hive would help me achieve it. I had literally only been here a month and I wanted to share the trips I had already made up to that point, not knowing that in the future I could make many more thanks to the daily commitment to this blog. With time, constancy and perseverance, everything turned out wonderfully: by that time I had already visited 9 of the 23 provinces of Argentina, and today I'm very happy to have arrived in a new place. The 14th province of my traveling objective was Chubut, which I discovered by visiting Lago Puelo during our last trip to the south⭐️❤️.
Cuando hice el post contando mi objetivo viajero que es conocer al menos un lugar de cada provincia de Argentina aún no tenía idea de todo lo que Hive me ayudaría a terminar de alcanzarlo. Literalmente apenas llevaba un mes aquí y quería compartir los viajes que ya había hecho hasta ese momento, sin saber que en el futuro podría realizar muchos más gracias al compromiso diario con este blog. Con el tiempo, constancia y perseverancia, todo resultó de manera maravillosa: para esas fechas ya había conocido 9 de las 23 provincias de Argentina, y hoy estoy muy feliz de haber llegado a un lugar nuevo. La provincia n°14 de mi objetivo viajero fue Chubut, que la conocí visitando el Lago Puelo durante nuestro último viaje por el sur ⭐️❤️.
Perhaps it is a bit tricky since Lago Puelo in Chubut is only 14 km from the border with the province of Río Negro, I'm not so pretentious in this sense, so stepping on Chubut soil was enough for me to say that I took one more step in my traveling goal 😅. It amazes me to think that I was almost 2000 km from home: this is the furthest I have ever been and the longest trip I have ever taken by car. Our previous stop had been at El Bolsón, a last minute destination that we decided to go to without much thought. And again, without thinking too much, we did 20 km more to go to see a new lake in a new province 😃.
Quizás resulte un poco tramposo ya que Lago Puelo en Chubut queda a solo 14 km del límite con la provincia de Río Negro, pero no soy tan pretenciosa en este sentido así que con pisar suelo chubutense ya me fue suficiente para decir que dí un paso más en mi objetivo viajero 😅. Me asombra pensar que estuve a casi 2000 km de mi casa: esto es lo más lejos que he estado hasta ahora y el viaje más largo que he hecho en auto. Nuestra parada anterior había sido en El Bolsón, un destino de último momento al que decidimos ir sin pensarlo demasiado. Y nuevamente, sin pensarlo demasiado, hicimos 20 km más para ir a conocer un nuevo lago en una nueva provincia 😃.

In Chubut, there is the town called Lago Puelo and 4 km from it is the lake itself. Since what we like most is to see beautiful landscapes, we went directly to the lake. This area belongs to a National Park, so in order to access it you have to pay an entrance fee that cost us 160 ARS (almost 1 USD) and with it you can visit the place for as long as you want 😀.
En Chubut, está la localidad que se llama Lago Puelo y a 4 km de ella se encuentra el lago propiamente dicho. Como lo que más nos gusta a nosotros es ver paisajes hermosos, fuimos directamente hacia el lago. Esta zona pertenece a un Parque Nacional, por lo que para poder acceder hay que pagar un entrada que nos costó 160 ARS (casi 1 USD) y con ella puedes recorrer el lugar el tiempo que desees 😀.
Like all the lakes we visited during this trip, the coast of Lago Puelo is used as a beach. The ground is made of stones and the water is frozen, since it comes from the melting of the great mountains that surround it. There are no lifeguards here, so if you want to swim you should do so with caution. This site also has a small grocery store and bathroom services to spend the day comfortably 😃.
Al igual que todos los lagos que conocimos durante este viaje, la costa del Lago Puelo es utilizada a modo de playa. El suelo es de piedras y el agua es helada, ya que proviene del deshielo de las grandes montañas que lo rodean. Aquí no hay guardavidas, por lo que hay si deseas nadar debes hacerlo con precaución. Este sitio también cuenta con una pequeña proveeduría y servicios de baños para poder pasar el día cómodamente 😃.

But what caught our attention that day were the boat rides that were offered on the lake. There was a service of small boats that took you to the different coasts to get great views from there in a journey that took more than an hour. We had already sailing on Lake Lácar in San Martín de Los Andes and it was really a beautiful ride, so we decided to do it again but this time on Lake Puelo. Good way to remember the first visit to Chubut ❤️!
Pero lo que más nos llamó la atención ese día fueron los paseos en barco que se ofrecían en el lago. Había un servicio de pequeñas embarcaciones que te llevaban hacia las distintas costas para obtener unas vistas geniales desde allí en un recorrido que duraba más de una hora. Nosotros ya habíamos navegado en el Lago Lácar en San Martín de Los Andes y en verdad fue un paseo hermoso, así que decidimos hacerlo de nuevo pero esta vez en el Lago Puelo. ¡Buena manera de recordar la primera visita a Chubut ❤️!
I have already said several times that the depth of the water terrifies me quite a lot, but for some reason I feel very safe when I am on a boat. I know that there is little chance of something going wrong, so I am calm throughout the ride. This little trip cost us 4,500 ARS each one (almost 25 USD), an expense that was not planned at all but that I did not hesitate to do because I knew it was a unique opportunity. I said "well, let future Laura take care of getting this money back because present Laura wants to do this now" 😂.
Ya he dicho varias veces que la profundidad del agua me aterra bastante, pero por alguna razón me siento muy segura cuando voy en un barco. Sé que hay poca probabilidad de que algo falle, así que estoy tranquila durante todo el paseo. Este pequeño viaje nos costó 4500 ARS a cada uno (casi 25 USD), un gasto que para nada estaba planeado pero que no dudé en hacer porque sabía que era una oportunidad única. Dije "bueno, que Laura del futuro se encargue de recuperar esta plata porque Laura del presente quiere hacer esto ahora" 😂.

This trip did not have any kind of waste: the guide was a very nice person who entertained us throughout the tour, telling us curiosities about the flora and fauna of this place. He even showed us photos of the animals that live here, at which point I felt like I was in a garden class. I like to learn new things, and this ride had a lot of that ❤️.
Este viaje no tuvo ningún tipo de desperdicio: el guía era una persona bastante simpática que nos entretuvo todo el paseo, contándonos curiosidades acerca de la flora y la fauna de este lugar. Incluso nos mostró fotos de los animales que viven aquí, momento en el que me sentí como en una clase de jardín. Me gusta aprender cosas nuevas, y este paseo tuvo mucho de eso ❤️.
As we got deeper into the lake, the water took on one of the most beautiful colors I've ever seen. I swear that I will never forget this turquoise in my life: if it looks beautiful in the photos, in reality it is a thousand times better. And from the shore it already looked beautiful, but from there it was even more so ❤️.
A medida que íbamos entrando en el lago, el agua tomaba uno de los colores más hermosos que ví. Les juro que este turquesa nunca más me lo voy a olvidar en mi vida: si en las fotos se ve lindo, en la realidad es mil veces mejor. Y desde la orilla ya se veía hermoso, pero desde allí lo fue aún más ❤️.
A little further on, we saw another coast which can be accessed after a long mountain trek starting from the coast from which we were originally. According to what the guide told us, this journey requires a certain physical condition, so it is mostly done by experienced hikers, who even take advantage of the intermediate sections to camp outdoors. That must be quite an adventure ❤️!
Un poco más adelante, vimos otra costa a la cuál se puede acceder después de un largo trekking de montaña partiendo desde la costa desde la que estábamos originalmente. De acuerdo a lo que nos dijo el guía, esta travesía requiere cierto estado físico, así que mayormente la hacen los caminantes experimentados, quienes incluso aprovechan los tramos intermedios para acampar en la intemperie. ¡Eso sí que debe ser toda una aventura ❤️!
Another interesting point that we saw from the boat was the Esperanza Glacier, which is that grey peak that can be seen between those two mountains. Well, needless to say, that's where the super super super climbers go, right? It was the only peak to be seen with some snow in the middle of January, so you can get an idea of how cold it must be there. So better leave it to the experts while we see it from down here 😅.
Otro punto interesante que vimos desde el barco fue el Glaciar Esperanza, que es aquel pico gris que se ve entre esas dos montañas. Bueno, demás está decir que hasta ahí llegan los super super super escaladores, ¿no? Era el único pico que se veía con algo de nieve en pleno Enero, así que pueden darse una idea del frío que debe hacer allí. Así que mejor dejárselo a los expertos mientras nosotros lo vemos desde aquí abajo 😅.
Late in the afternoon, the clouds did their thing and covered the sun, changing the lighting of the landscape, so much so that at times it seemed like another place. By the time we got to this part, the guide explained to us that this lake represents a border with Chile, but that it is not allowed to pass through water. Anyway, on the other side of the coast there is a gendarmerie post in case someone wants to sneak in there. This was funny to me but if they put it it's because it can happen 😅.
Pasada la tarde, las nubes hicieron lo suyo y fueron tapando el sol, modificando la iluminación del paisaje, tanto que por momentos parecía otro lugar. Para cuando llegamos a esta parte, el guía nos explicó que este lago representa un límite con Chile, pero que no se encuentra habilitado el paso por agua. De todos modos, del otro lado de la costa hay un puesto de gendarmería en caso de que alguien quiera colarse por ahí. Esto me resultó chistoso pero si lo pusieron es porque puede pasar 😅.

When we had already reached as far as it was possible to go and were returning, it seems that the sky took pity on us and the sun came out again and the turquoise water reappeared. We learned that what we were seeing at that time was a kind of virgin area, protected by the National Parks Administration to preserve the species that live there. That mount is the only area that no one has access to, and from the only point you can see it is from inside the lake. A curiosity that we saw from the boat is an underground waterfall: we could notice that the stream of water was born above, disappeared for a stretch and then came out below. Since you cannot enter that place, no one knows exactly what internal path this small waterfall has, which seemed to me something interesting and very mysterious ❤️.
Cuando ya habíamos llegado a lo más lejos que se podía ir y estábamos volviendo, parece que el cielo se apiadó de nosotros y otra vez salió el sol y el agua turquesa volvió a aparecer. Aprendimos que lo que estábamos viendo en ese momento era una especie de zona virgen, protegida por la Administración de Parques Nacionales para preservar las especies que allí viven. Ese monte es la única área a la que nadie tiene acceso, y desde el único punto que se puede ver es desde dentro del lago. Una curiosidad que vimos desde el bote es una cascada subterránea: pudimos notar que el chorro de agua nacía arriba, por un tramo desaparecía y luego salía por abajo. Como no se puede entrar a ese lugar, nadie sabe exactamente qué recorrido interno tiene esa pequeña cascada, lo que me pareció algo interesante y muy misterioso ❤️.
This walk was one of the best decisions I made during this trip because I took some incredible postcards of Lake Puelo. Also, you can imagine the euphoria I had to be completing one more step in my travel goal: I'm already more than halfway there and that represents a lot for me and a great emotion. I think that when I proposed that here in Hive I implicitly intended to comply with it and that's the way it is. I am very lucky and I will always be grateful to have the opportunity and the means to make these beautiful trips ❤️.

Este paseo fue una de las mejores decisiones que tomé durante este viaje porque me llevé unas postales increíbles del Lago Puelo. Además, se imaginarán la euforia que tenía por estar completando un paso más en mi objetivo viajero: ya voy por más de la mitad y eso representa un montón para mí y una emoción muy grande. Pienso que cuando propuse eso aquí en Hive implícitamente intencioné para cumplirlo y así está siendo. Soy muy afortunada y siempre voy a estar agradecida por tener la oportunidad y los medios para realizar estos hermosos viajes ⭐️.

Me hiciste acordar que en mi Facebook hice un álbum de fotos llamado 'En camino a 100 ciudades', y subí unas 5 o 6 fotos de ciudades distintas, queriendo llegar a 100, pero fue en el 2010 y no lo completé nunca más jaja, quedó ahí con esas pocas fotos.
