The Atacama desert at the north of Chile is very extend and one of the most arid places on the planet. The photos that I show near Antofagasta in a place called “Coloso”, where there is a fishing port. You can see the mountains do not have any type of vegetation. At the background of the first photo we can see the city of Antofagasta.

El desierto de Atacama, ubicado en el norte de Chile es bastante extenso y uno de los lugares más áridos del planeta. La fotografías fueron tomadas en la “caleta del Coloso”, ubicada cerca de Antofagasta. La ciudad la pueden observar al fondo de la primera imagen.

The camera used was a Sony A7 (ILCE 7) equipped with lenses Sony FE28-70mm F3.5-5.6 OS. The edition was done in Gimp.

Amazing view. I didn’t expect to see the big hills of sand from the Atacama Desert.
These hills are mainly made of rocks not sand. The dunes are not very abundant there.
