First of all I want to introduce myself to the community since this is the first time I review a book to publish it in Hive. I am a fan of reading and I also write, my favorite topics of literature are those related to mysteries, police investigations and horror. My favorite authors are the classics, among them the magnificent Bram Stoker, far beyond his best known book Dracula, my favorite Spanish-speaking author is Maestro Mario Cruz from Mexico.
Today I bring you the review of the book Introduction to the Work of Gurdjieff by the author Jacob Needleman. A small book presented in a very comfortable pocket edition, ideal to read anywhere, it was published by Ganesha Publishing House in Caracas Venezuela in 2009.
I must also say that I really like the presentation, structure, and layout that they gave to this portable edition making it easy to read. This small book is commonly known as the passport of the fourth path, but do not be confused by its small size, the knowledge expressed here can have an incalculable weight in human development.
Perhaps until today you had never heard of who Gurdjieff is, or of the philosophy of the fourth way. So first of all I am going to tell you my interpretation of what the author has masterfully expressed in the book. Gurdjieff was a thinker who ventured to obtain the mythical knowledge of the whole world, he made an adventurous journey that lasted many years until his first public appearance in Moscow in 1912.
According to the book, the philosophy of the fourth way is the sum of many ancestral knowledges that gather in a single process the overcoming of the human being, until reaching a mystical level of development that they call the true Self.
The purpose of this book is to help readers understand, as a first step in the process of the fourth path, what Gurdjieff's fundamental idea is, and how the human being can awaken the meaning of his own existence and spirit far beyond the traditional paths.
The teaching of this philosophy professes an advancement beyond the simple development of the physical body as athletes do, the mind as scholars do, and spirituality as religious people do. The fourth path is that and much more. It is something that was not known to the modern world until the creation of the first teaching center set up in France.
I must say that despite how simple it seems to read such a small book, understanding the principles of the essential wisdom condensed in its pages by a great connoisseur of the subject, was a real challenge for me as a reader, so I took the trouble to read it 3 times, sectioning each time things that caught my attention, then reread them and progressively understand the wonderful concepts, which some might even name as a kind of initiatory ancestral magic before taking the steps to the following books of this publisher with deeper philosophical themes.
Finally, I would like to invite you to read this small but magnificent book, full of wisdom that I am sure can call your attention to know the philosophy of the fourth way, with a simple summary while discovering a more balanced meaning of a subject as deep as your own existence.

Antes que nada quiero presentarme ante la comunidad ya que es la primera vez que hago un review de un libro para publicarlo en Hive. Mis autores preferidos son los clásicos, entre ellos el magnífico Bram Stoker, mucho más allá de su libro más conocido Drácula, mi autor preferido de habla hispana es el Maestro Mario Cruz de México.
Hoy les traigo el review del libro Introducción al Trabajo de Gurdjieff del autor Jacob Needleman. Un pequeño libro presentado en una edición de bolsillo muy cómoda, ideal para leer en cualquier parte, fue publicado por la editorial Ganesha en Caracas Venezuela en el año 2009.
Debo decir adicionalmente que me gusta mucho la presentación, estructura, y maquetado que le dieron a esta edición portable haciéndola de fácil lectura. Este pequeño libro es conocido comúnmente como el pasaporte del cuarto camino, pero no se dejen confundir por su pequeño tamaño, los conocimientos aquí plasmados pueden tener un peso incalculable en el desarrollo humano.
Tal vez usted hasta el día de hoy nunca había escuchado hablar de quien es Gurdjieff, o de la filosofía del cuarto camino. Así que primero que nada voy a contarles mi interpretación de lo plasmado en el libro por el autor de manera magistral. Gurdjieff fue un pensador que se aventuró a obtener el conocimiento mítico de todo el mundo, realizó un recorrido de aventuras que duró muchísimos años hasta su primera aparición pública en Moscú durante el año 1912.
Según nos cuenta el libro, la filosofía del cuarto camino, es la suma de muchos conocimientos ancestrales que reúnen en un solo proceso la superación del ser humano, hasta alcanzar un nivel místico de desarrollo al que ellos llaman el Yo verdadero.
El propósito de este libro es ayudar a comprender a los lectores, como un primer paso en el proceso del cuarto camino cuál es la idea fundamental de Gurdjieff, y como el ser humano puede despertar el significado de su propia existencia y espíritu mucho más allá de los caminos tradicionales.
La enseñanza de esta filosofía profesa un avance más allá del simple desarrollo del cuerpo físico como hacen los atletas, la mente como hacen los estudiosos, y la espiritualidad como hacen los religiosos. El cuarto camino es eso y mucho más. Es algo que no fue conocido por el mundo moderno hasta la creación del primer centro de enseñanza instalado en Francia.
Debo decir que a pesar de lo sencillo que parece leer un libro tan pequeño, el comprender los principios de la sabiduría esencial condensadas en sus páginas por un gran conocedor del tema, me supuso un verdadero reto como lector, así que me tomé el trabajo de leerlo 3 veces, seccionando cada vez cosas que me llamaban la atención, para luego releerlas y progresivamente entender los conceptos tan maravillosos, que algunos pudieran nombrar incluso como una especie de magia ancestral iniciática antes de dar el pasos a los siguientes libros de esta editorial con temas filosóficos más profundos.
Por último, me gustaría invitarlos a leer este pequeño pero magnífico libro, lleno de sabiduría que estoy seguro puede llamar su atención para conocer la filosofía del cuarto camino, con un sencillo resumen mientras descubre un significado más equilibrado de un tema tan profundo como su propia existencia.
