Recently I've watched a movie titled "Monster Hunter". The only reason why i watch that movie, is because previously I played the game at PS4 console. I rate the game 9 out of 10. It really was a good game.
When i saw the trailer for Monster Hunter movie, honestly I'm not interested at all. Most of video game movie, doesn't do justice for the game. For me, the only interesting thing that movie has is Tony Jaa.

The movie was out for a while before i took my decision to watch it. Below will be a spoiler for anyone that haven't watch the movie.
The movie started with a scene at Monster Hunter world. Teams lf monster hunter was on a ship that is sailing towards the Sky Tower. Instead of sailing in the sea. The ship was sailing on top of a desert. Where's the logic right? But hey, this is a movie about monster. So leave aside the logic.
While sailing, the ship was attacked by monster known as diablos. As a result of the attack, Tony Jaa's character fell off the ship. Scene was cut, and moved to the next scene.
The next scene was set on our world; Earth. On earth, the character played by Milla Jovovich (MJ) , and her United Nations (UN) security team are in midst of a search and rescue mission. The mission was to search for a missing teams of soldiers in the desert.
One of the team member found and notice that tire track left by the missing team vanished halfway on the desert. Suddenly a storm hit and pulls them into a portal to the Monster Hunter world. And therr where they find the corpses of the missing soldiers along with their vehicles.
The team proceed further into the desert. This is when they stumbled upon a gigantic monster skeleton. In the background, something approaching. As it comes nearer and nearer, it is the monster Diablos
As the Diablos approaches, Tony Jaa's characters, who is observing from a high hill, shoot an arrow as a warning signal. By the time the team realise, the diablos attack them.
Team team retaliate by barraging the diablos with everything that they. But their attack having no effect, the Diablos continues attacking and successfully kills two members of the squad.
The surviving team squad runs and hide in a cave. The diablos tried to enter the cave, but was unsuccessful. When the team think they are saved. They were attacked by a pack of monsters known as Nerscyllas.
MJ's character is injected with a paralyzing venom and unable to move. The team has no choice but to leave MJ behind, and run outside the cave, before they were overrun by Nerscyllas. Tony Jaa's tried to help the team, but unsuccessful.
When MJ wakes up, she notice that she is in Nerscylla lair,. After freeing herself from cocoon, she find that her whole team is dead or infected with Nerscylla spawn. While roaming around the lair looking for an escape, she was almost captured again. However, she manage to escape the lair.
When she reach above Nerscylla lair, , she runs into the Tony Jaa, but for some reason, they fought instead of working together. After fighting each other, they agree that the only way out of the desert is to work together in order to kill the diablos.
Tony Jaa come out with a plan to use Nerscylla venom to weaken diablos. To get the venom, he use MJ as bait to lure one of the Nerscylla from its lair. The first step of the plan succeed. Using the venom from Nerscylla, Tony Jaa made an arrow covered with the venom.
Then they set a trap for the Diablos, to weaken it using the venom and kill it. Tony Jaa manage to shoot the arrow straight into diablos eye. After a while, the venom started to take effect. The plan was successful, with MJ delivering the final hit to diablos thus killing it. However, Tony Jaa suffered a critical hit and is badly wounded. Not leaving him behind, MJ made a makeshift stretcher from diablos armor / skin and carries Tony Jaa across the desert. Miraculously, Tony Jaa recovered in just a day 🤔 hmm..
Both of them then reach an oasis. At the oasis there are monster that look more like a dinosaur than a monster, and only eat grass. MJ wants to drink water from the oasis. Unknowingly, Tony Jaa use MJ as a bait to killed a small monster, and made a monster barbecue out of it.
While enjoying the barbecue, suddenly a wyvern-like monster attacked from above and causes the dinosaur-like monster to stampede. MJ was almost being run over and was rescued by Ron Pearlman (RP).
After rescuing MJ, RP knock MJ out and lock her in a cage. RP then explains that the Sky Tower was built by an ancient civilization to travel between Monster worlds to Earth. Sky tower are protected by the wyvern-like monster. RP's team mission is to investigate the sky tower. RP ask MJ to help them kill the monster that is protecting the sky tower.
MJ agrees to help kill the monster so that she can return to earth. Once they reach at the sky tower, the were attacked by the wyvern-like monster. During the battle, MJ falls through the portal, thus returning to earth. MJ then was rescued by team of soldier, and was taken into a helicopter.
Little that MJ knows, the wyvern-like monster able to slip into the portal and come to earth. The monster then attack the helicopter that she was on. The helicopter crashed leaving only MJ as the sole survivor.
MJ battles with the monster and successfully throw packs of grenade into its mouth. But it was not enough to kill it. All of a sudden, Tony Jaa emerged and deliver a finishing shot to the monster. Few moments later RP also came. He explain to MJ, that as long as the portal remains open, there will always be monsters coming through to Earth.
MJ decided to stay at Monster Hunter world, and help to close the portal. Before the movie end, another monster come in. This time, it is a dragon-like monster.
I gave this movie a rating of 5 out of 10. Not that good, but also not that bad. Overall, just an ok-ok movie to watch.
