Things have been quiet on the Steemit front recently. Take it from a guy that has spent days installing 100's of metres of pipes and water fittings, pumps and tanks....you are done by the end of the day, and the last thing you want to do is spend a little time putting some thoughts down onto a browser :).
But that is part of what I've been doing on this little plot of land were farming.....getting the irrigation and water systems in place in a drought stricken Western Cape in Southern Africa.
It's been an exciting project. Not only do we now have lots and LOTS of underground water just a few metres underground, but we now also have irrigation systems taking it to the areas we need it most....exciting!!
So I just had to show my Steemian friends a small part of what we finished yesterday....the pumps for the water to the house (yellow pressure switch on it), and the pump supplying the land with the needed water.
I feel a little proud in the accomplishment and hope you can share a little in that with me....I feel like Michaelangelo creating these wonderful things for all mankind....not quite, but you get my drift?
The water is sent from the borehole pump into the tanks (see below).

The 2x larger tanks will supply the vegetable beds we've plowed, fertilized and prepared.
The smaller tank will supply the home with fresh water on a daily basis. The little yellow doowimagwidgie (technical term for pressure switch), turns the pump on as soon as someone opens a tap in the house.
We then refill the tanks on a daily basis and start again....farmer brown :).

I've already learned some lessons in doing this about pressure the pumps can push against what is needed and how many impact sprayer heads this can run.
Also how important the thickness of the pipes transporting the water is. If I had learned this before I purchased and installed all the piping, then I beleive I could have doubled the amount of sprinkler heads I can run currently, which is 8 at a time off the pumps I have.
So for the days I really need a lot of water spraying then I will add the borehole pump in parallel to the below pumps and then open more channels of sprinkler heads. OK I feel like I'm babbling, and the wife has rolled her eyes at me about this already :).
It is all very exciting nonetheless.
WISH ME LUCK FOR TOMORROW for the final testing and running.

Good post! Interesting to read.
Thank you @eduards
Finally joined the Working Class then?
Haha! Yeah its been physical these days. But its better than sitting in front of a pc all day.
Hey I was going to write something about Sandbox and you....are you ok with it?
Of Course!
Nothing as satisfying as a completed DIY project! Good job.
And there are lots of those on a farm!! Thanks mate
Oh wow, well done! You have every right to feel proud!
JOB WELL DONE!
Thank you! It runs like a charm.... now we have tons of water at our disposal from the borehole and the worry we had is no longer.
Just waiting on the water testing so we can confirm it is good for human consumption (have had a few glasses to no ill effect though :) )
Holding thumbs for great news on that, but I believe that the tests will come back positive!
Nice post.
I also post lovely poems daliy @adenijiadeshina. You can please try checking out those lovely poems at @adenijiadeshina and i hope you love them. Thank you for your support
