So could Penny Mordaunt's moment come after all?

About three months ago, I wrote a post about why Penny Mordaunt could become Prime Minister:

I think my arguments still hold up as to why she will become Prime Minister.

One key thing in her favour is that she's likeable and dignified - major advantages in the current febrile undisciplined political world. She handled the swearing in of King Charles extremely well, indicating she'll make a good "front" for the government, while tough decisions are taken by the chancellor (in much the way David Cameron and George Osborne operated).

She needs 100 nominations to stand, and is likely to be up against Rishi Sunak.

Either of them would be an improvement on Liz Truss and Boris Johnson.
