China and Japan compete to make the Fastest HSR (High Speed Railway) in the world

in #technology3 years ago

Competition between two countries with best economies in east Asia, China and Japan has actually been going on for a long time, and in modern's era, the competition between the two countries has not subsided.

as we can see in the case of high-speed rail manufacturing, where China seems trying to get rid of Japan as a country which has been known as a country that has advanced in high-speed rail technology.

I'm sure that we've heard about shinkansen which is a milestone in the changing world order of railways pioneered by Japan. which made the name of Japan famous as a country that developed in railways.

Slowly but surely,, Japan's superiority in fast trains began to be disturbed when China made a fast train called Fuxing Hao with a speed designed to reach 350 km/hour which was launched for the first time in 2017 and operated a year later by connecting Beijing and Shanghai which is 1,214 km away and the train only takes 45 minutes to do.

China's success in making this train, seems making Japan not to be left behind, so in 2019, Japan finally introduced their fastest shinkansen train named ALFA-X. This fast train is designed to have a speed of up to 360 km/hour or 10 km faster than China's fuxing hao. Japan even plans to increase the design speed of this train to 400 km/hour.

But again, Japan's position over China is unlikely to last long😂, cause China recently introduced a prototype Maglev train designed to reach speeds of up to 620 km/hour. although this train is not yet officially operational but I believe China really wants to strengthen their position as a leader in railways manufacturing and maybe there will be faster trains in the future.

though, Japan has actually started research and produced a similar Maglev train, which is planned to connect Tokyo and Nagoya in 2027 but its speed is only 500-600 km/hour, so it hasn't beat China's current achievements.

however it is interesting to see whether Japan will come up with new innovations to beat China or indeed Japan should give up in this race. we wait and see 🙂 !!!
