I never signed up to facebook, i just disliked it from the off and i got really annoyed with the cult of facebook constantly wanting me to join, people offered to make a page for me and couldn't understand my responce of "why the hell would i want to be on fb?" I did notice my invites and friends dried up because i wasnt one of them feeding their imaginary pigs and popping bubbles and removing real life social friends for imaginary ones from outer guatemala that like what fluffy had for breakfast. Its strange for me to instantly hate fb and have nothing to do with it but instantly love steemit and interact on it.

Cheers, i just thought we all needed an excuse to make at least 1 easy post a week as it can be hard to think of ideas for good regular posts, its only something daft we can all take part in and ive been shocked how much everyone has joined in but its now going to be cool to see how everyones piece evolves and tones over time and the best part is anyone can join in at anytime and someone new to steemit that doesnt know what to post can easily take part and become recognised in the community, see there is method to the madness lol :)

I hope more and more people move onto Steemit and I could ditch FB but I still have a account there mainly to post my photos and run back here
FB is agreat address book, and a fun place to share some pics. But i rarely "engage" in any serious way with the platform -- and i certainly don't tag my baby boy when the algos start trying to index him.
I do FB mainly for potential clients to but photos or Calender’s, I do not interact at all on a personal level on there

He is a local painter and i had seen and admired his work from prints. There was one at my dentist's office and several print shops around town had his work on display.
Then, one day i walked into a building downtown and there was an art show going on featuring his work. His wife was there, we got to talking, the next thing you know i had bought the first one it's 5" x 7" so it small, but the colours are great! It still makes me happy to look at it.

Fakebook sucks, I left it months ago,but never posted much on it anyway because it was always some stupid picture of someone showing where they ate and who they were with, i don't care! plus as you said so much crap advertising, watch how fast they fall....welcome steem!!!!!, hopefully it doesn't turn into Fakebook.
All of that^ and more. What makes Steemit so great is that there is no centralized agenda -- or shareholders (per se).

First they monetize you, then they index you, then they sell you junk... this is perverse!
Yet the majority of people go along quite happily letting big corps get away with it. We are nothing but cattle to be stuffed fat and then preyed upon.
