Today I learned about "head-cover"

in #til7 years ago

Today I learned about "head-cover" - applying pressure on baby skulls to shape their head shape.

Head-cover was part of previous cultures around the world, including Maya in South America, many cultures in Africa, and even a certain region in France until the mid-20th century. The molded skulls were considered attractive, forming a status symbol.

In the photo: skulls from the Paracas tribe in the Andes.

Is it really possible to change the shape by pressure ?
wondered.

Are all the tribe's people use Head-Cover?

So amazing. I never new people can shape the head of a baby by applying pressure on the baby's head....
