The Pirate (Hai Tac) Islands (Kien Giang Province, Vietnam), known at the end of the 17th century, was once the base of the infamous "Black Sails" (Canh Buom Den) pirate crew. The whole archipelago belongs to Tien Hai commune of Ha Tien town, Kien Giang province.
You can also think of the One Piece movie when you hear the name of the island. I remember in One Piece there were also islands dedicated to pirates. :)
The archipelago consists of many small islands, which were once violently violated by pirates, hence the name (Hai Tac) Pirate Island was born. Among the small islands, Hon Tre is the most beautiful island, with extremely clear water and attracting many tourists to visit. Here, you can enjoy attractive seafood dishes ... At the same time, learning about the life and features of the people on the island also brings interesting memories.
The most outstanding feature of the Hai Tac archipelago is that it now has a waste treatment area built on the island, so the environment here is very good. This is one of the few rare islands in Kien Giang that has a waste treatment plant (after Phu Quoc island). That is also the outstanding advantage of this archipelago.
On the island, you can drive yourself around without fear of getting lost, because the whole island has only one road, with one side of majestic mountains, one side is a very beautiful sea. Especially, if you have the conditions and time, you should go to the port to hire a small boat (driven by people) to run around the island and visit the other small islands in the Pirate Islands.
Currently, Pirate Island does not have motels or hotels but only the islanders build rooms for overnight guests or if you go on a picnic you can bring your own tent to camp on the beach. However, there are many shortages on fresh water island and electricity on Hai Tac Island. The island uses a generator so there is no continuous electricity 24 hours a day, but only generating electricity at morning, noon and evening at 9am is completely off, remember to bring a backup battery at night.
There is a small note that if you are a foreigner. You may have limited access to this archipelago, so use travel services to facilitate the procedure instead of going to the archipelago yourself.
