I've lived here 9 years now. The first year was fun. Second was OK and this year is the first time I haven't fled the country and as I write this, can hear the screaming and music in the street outside and I am locked in and well supplied as I spend the 3 days avoiding the cries of 'get the ferang'!
Hooe you brought plenty of plastic bags to keep your stuff dry. Songkran? Bah Humbug lol

Safe trip!
Have a wonderful holiday! Just stay cool and go with the flow for a few days! You could look up crazy Thai and expat Steemians in BKK or Chiengmai if you wish.
But I guess you’ll be heading to the seaside to get sun burn!

Yo, Kevin, hope you've landed safely and your trip is invigorating: mentally, physically, emotionally.
My advice, scrap self doubt and develop that series of lofty posts... into a book! It can begin life, here, and then you polish your thoughts and prose later.
This is what I'm doing with some of my better Steemit posts from the last couple of years (so that I do not feel my time/energy was wastd). Will keep you posted if I manage to find a publisher :)
Otherwise, at the risk of sounding avuncular, I say: try marriage, man. You can still have your existential crises (from time to time) and in my experience, at least, it helps one to grow in ways they cannot, alone. ..
