Leaving Madeira for Cape Verde
| Two months around the Madeira archipelago are enough to appreciate the beauty of these islands and their islets but also to remember that Europe will always remain Europe, unfortunately unable to let people live in freedom. The control of all activity wears me out little by little, and despite my overactivity to dive and find isolated anchorages, I end up yearning to leave the system. Leaving behind me the superb island of "Desertas" where we can only legally stay 48 hours, I decide to go directly to Cape Verde without stopping over in the Canaries, whose affiliation to the blue flag with multiple stars already frightens me. The wind pushes Maesha effortlessly. I sail during the day with my Genaker and I secure myself at night by replacing it with the easier to maneuver genoa. The pace is fairly regular up to the Canary Islands where the well-known acceleration of the area takes me across the archipelago in less than 10 hours at an average of 10 knots under a single headsail! Me, who didn't want to hang out in the Canaries, I'm served! The days go by with the main activity of a loner trying to kill boredom. Almost everything goes there, the guitar, cooking, crafts, and even a little reading, that is to say! I always say that it is better to arrive at a new port during the day and during the week. The maneuvers are easier when you can see them and the authorities are not on weekends. Obviously, when I enter the bay of the port it is 10 p.m. and it is Sunday !!! To be continued...! |
Deux mois autour de l'archipel de Madeira sont suffisant pour apprécier la beauté de ces îles et leurs îlots mais également pour se rappeler que l'Europe restera toujours l'Europe, malheureusement incapable de laisser les gens vivre en liberté. Le contrôle de toute activité m'use peu à peu, et malgré ma suractivité pour plonger et trouver des mouillages isolés, je finis par me languir de quitter de système. Laissant ainsi derrière moi la superbe île de "Desertas" où nous ne pouvons légalement restés que 48h, je décide de rejoindre directement Le Cap Vert sans faire escale aux Canaries dont l'affiliation au drapeau bleu aux multiples étoiles me fais déjà peur. Le vent pousse Maesha sans aucun effort. JE navigue la journée avec mon Genaker et je me sécurise la nuit en le remplaçant par le génois plus facile à manœuvrer. Le rythme est plutôt régulier jusqu'au Canarie où les accélérations bien connues de la zone me font traverser l'archipel en moins de 10h à une moyenne de 10 nœuds sous seule voile d'avant ! Moi qui ne voulais pas trainer aux Canaries, je suis servi! Les journées s'enchainent avec comme activité principale celle d'un solitaire essayent de tuer l'ennui. Tout y passe ou presque, la guitare, la cuisine, le bricolage, et même un peu de lecture, c'est dire ! Je dis toujours qu'il est préférable d'arriver dans un nouveau port de jour et durant la semaine. Les manœuvres sont plus faciles lorsqu'on peut y voir et les autorités ne sont pas en week end. Evidemment, au moment où je rentre dans la baie du port il est 22h00 et nous sommes Dimanche !!! A suivre...! |
