St. Bartholomew, is a pilgrimage chapel on the western shore of Lake Königsee on the Hirschau peninsula. It is a small settlement on the peninsula and belongs to the municipality of Schönau am Königssee. The peninsula can only be reached by ship. Some of the chapel dates from the 12th century. The church and the former hunting lodge, which stands in front of the imposing Watzmann east wall, is one of the most popular motifs for photographers from all over the world.
