Brenton Beach

This very large rock, is named Castle Rock, and it is at the end of a very long beach, stretching from Brenton to Buffels Bay. Next to it you find these flat rocks, with quite a lot of pools in them.

This beach is also surrounded by high dunes and it is quite a few stairs to get from the top to the bottom!!

Luckily they built some stairs, when I was a kid, we also used to come here, but in those years there were no stairs and one had to go down the dune. The going down was a lot of fun, but coming back up was quite hard work - it felt that for every step up, you slid down two!!

Like I said in the beginning, this is a very long sandy beach with some flat rocks here and there!!

Although the water looks great to swim in, it is not advisable, as there are some strong currents, specially in the vicinity of Castle Rock.

As a kid, my wife was actually drawn into the sea, but luckily somebody saved her. (It is interesting that both of us came here on vacation with our parents, but never new each other, back then) We only met some years later!!
