相国寺历史悠久，是我国古代著名的佛教中心之一。这里原为魏公子无忌信陵君的故宅。后改建寺院，称为建国寺，又毁于战火。直到唐朝，唐睿宗李旦为了纪念他由相王即位当皇帝，赐建国寺为"相国寺"，并亲笔书写了"大相国寺"匾额。因此这几个大字还是出于唐朝皇帝之手，可见其历史之久远。
这是倒拔垂杨柳的花和尚鲁智深，大家都熟知水浒传，那就一定会对这个大和尚感兴趣，这位在大相国寺种菜，吃肉喝酒的和尚力大无比，倒拔杨柳，威镇梁山。因此进入大相国寺，左边就是花和尚的雕塑。
