On a winter trip to Europe I love the sunrises are quite late, so you can even sleep in. In Cyprus in late December it was around 7am. For sure, I got up at six to see what the light does and does not do here. A huge surprise was the unreal moisture in the air. Fog rolled from the valley, creating a super atmosphere. I certainly did not expect it here, rather I was afraid of the haze that was in the afternoon. It melted overnight and was replaced by the above mentioned mists.
Na zimních výletech po Evropě mám rád, že východy slunce jsou poměrně pozdě a tak si lze i přispat. Na Kypru v pozdním prosinci to bylo kolem 7 hodiny ráno. Pro jistotu jsem vstal už na šestou abych viděl co zde světlo dělá a nedělá. Obrovské překvapení byla neskutečná vlhkost ve vzduchu. Z údolí se valily mlhy a vytvářely super atmosféru. To jsem zde rozhodně nečekal, spíš jsem se bál oparu, který byl v odpoledních hodinách. Přes noc se rozpustil a nahradily ho výše zmíněné mlhy.

Here I understand that it will be necessary to camp here so that everyone can see us and not like anywhere else. Where it is necessary to hide properly. I do not know whether hunting is a normal matter here, or we set out in the middle of the hunting season.
Další ranní překvapení byla vzdálená střelba z brokovnic. Čím více se rozednívalo tím více se střílelo. Zde jsem pochopil, že zde bude nutné kempovat tak, aby nás každý viděl a ne jako kdekoliv jinde. Kde je nutné se pořádně schovat. Nevím zda je zde lov normální záležitostí, nebo jsme vyrazili doprostřed lovecké sezóny.
After drying things that got wet in the night, we set out on the road towards Stavrovouni Monastery. Which should be one of the oldest monasteries in the world and mainly there was drinking water. Finally, we were on the E4 trail, which started a short distance from where we were camping the first night.
Po usušení věcí co nám v noci navlhli, jsme se vydali na cestu směr klášter Stavrovouni. Což by měl být jeden z nejstarších klášterů na světě a hlavně zde byla pitná voda. Konečně jsme byli na stezce E4, která začínala kousek o místa kde jsem první noc kempovali.
The journey was pleasant, still slightly uphill, but nothing difficult. Because we had a lack of drinking water, we switched to a radical solution and whenever we were thirsty we drank vodka. Surprisingly, it worked very well. Both for fatigue and warming of the body and for sweating. So we had stops in the olive grove, the other was overlooking the quarry or the advertising of the camp. All the while we were approaching the monastery we heard the sound of a racing car. When we arrived under the hill on which the monastery lies against us rushed BMW adapted for the uphill races. When I saw the profile of the road leading to the summit, I understood. Rather, I was struck by cars that are lightened to the maximum on a normal road.
Cesta byla příjemná, sice pořád mírně do kopce, ale nic náročného. Tím že jsme měli nedostatek pitné vody, jsme přešli na radikální řešení a to kdykoliv jsme měli žízeň jsme upíjeli vodku. A kupodivu to fungovalo velmi dobře. Jak na únavu tak ohřívání organismu i na pocení. Takže jsme měli zastávky v olivovém háji, další byla s výhledem na lom a nebo u reklamy na kemp. Celou dobu co jsme se blížili ke klášteru jsme slyšeli zvuk závodního auta. Když jsme dorazily pod kopec na kterém klášter leží se proti nám vyřítilo BMW upravené pro závody do vrchu. Když jsem pak viděl profil silnice vedoucí k vrcholu tak jsem pochopil. Spíše mě zarazilo auta, které je odlehčené na maximum na normální silnici.
Climb to the monastery was quite challenging and we even earned the admiration of a father and son who had gone down. Especially the last few hundred meters were devastating because they walked up the wooden stairs. At the top we found out that we could not reach the monastery anyway, so we refilled the water and went down the hill again.
Stoupání ke klášteru bylo poměrně náročné a dokonce jsme si vysloužili obdiv otce se synem, kteří šli směrem dolů. Hlavně posledních několik set metrů bylo zničujících, protože se šlo po dřevěných schodech. Nahoře jsme zjistili, že se stejně do kláštera nedostaneme a tak jsme doplnili vodu a vydali se opět dolu z kopce.
In the map we found the ideal place to stay. So we went to him. When we arrived there, we found it to be a place where couples enjoy sex. But we didn't have the strength to find anything else. We cooked dinner in the form of pasta with cheese, enriched with another cheese. And then they watched the sunset over the valley, and slowly we drunk vodka. When the bottle was empty we went to sleep hoping that there would be no car at night.
V mapě jsme si našli ideální místo na přespání. A tak jsme se k němu vydali. Když jsme tam dorazili , zjistili jsme že se jedná o místo kam si jezdí páry užít sex. Ale už jsme neměli sílu na to najít něco jiného. uvařili jsme večeři v podobě těstovin se sýrem, obohacené o další sýr. A poté sledovali západ slunce nad údolím a pomalu jsme dopíjeli vodku. Když byla láhev prázdná šli jsme spát o doufali, že se zde neobjeví v noci auto.
Compared to the first day we walked only 15.9km, but for it in more difficult terrain where we overcome 970 meters elevation.
Oproti prvnímu dni jsme ušli jen 15.9km, ale za to v náročnějším terénu kde jsme překonali 970 metrů převýšení.
