Introduction
Anywhere you would go, Christmas is nothing without Santa's Christmas present. While Japan celebrates both New Year and Christmas, they do theh gifting in a different way.
Japan sotres start selling festive items during winter and they have sales for everyone to enjoy. It's the perfect time to run for buying gifts and decorations, and the best thing sales makes this great. Here are some things to look for during your shopping.

Although Japan dosen't have alot of Christians in Japan and isn't a national holiday, that mean isn't a day off. However, the city's are lit up with sparkling lights and malls are spewing out tiny gifts, ornaments and Santa is kinda everywhere!
Strawberry Shortcake
The Christmas Cake in Japan is a common desert eaten among friends and loved ones. Each cake it's presented in a beutifull way with strawberries delicately placed on top and sliced strawberries lining inside. Those can be bought from SuperMarket, or order them from bakeries were they add extra decorations. This it's usualy eaten after everyone came home after the KFC Christmas Dinner.
The Traditional Ornaments.
Christmas trees, tree ornaments, toy reindeer etc. are all sold in Japanese supermarkets as winter starts to roll in. You can also find Christian decorations such as the nativity scene sold at malls, supermarkets and the Christmas villages that pop up around the major cities. Some ornaments and other decorations stray away from traditional designs and incorporate Japanese culture.
The Tradition Ornament, All the Christmas ornaments, toys, tree are sold in Japanese supermarkets as winter holidays starts. Not only that, but you can also find all kind of decorations such as nativity scenes, Christmas Villages that are all around the major cities. Some ornaments are stay away from traditional design and take the Japanese culture.
PS. Shops often sell christmas costumes as the santa one and the elf!
Christmas Bento Boxes
So we all know the little box with food that the wife often make for her husband or kids before the leave the house are caller Bento Box. Japan has a Special pre made Christmas theme bento box selled almost on any supermarket. Bento's made with common ingredients decorated with snowflakes, Santa, wreats and all kinda Christmas decorations. The thing is they are only sold on the Christmas day but ofcourse you can make yourself too.
Common Gifts
There are all kinda of gift wich can be find in any supermarkets that will make everyone happy. One gift that it's popular in every Chrismas are Cup Fuchiko, tiny figurines that on the side of cup and can be found in vending machines. They have a Christmas edition that feature the girl in a variety of Christmas Costumes.

In conclusion, Japanese New Year is like Christmas in every country. They both hold significant meaning and bring good times to everyone involved. Can be crowded during holidays but you still can have fun and get some great deals on gifts to bring home!
