Further to my previous post, there are many more interesting and impressive places in Chanthaburi province that I would like to present to you in this post.
If you stand at the bank of the “Old Town Chanthaboon Waterfront”, https://steemit.com/travel/@tangmo/interesting-old-town-chanthaboon-waterfront-chanthaburi-province-in-the-east-of-thailand, you will see an outstanding church in the far distance at the opposite side.
It is the most famous and beautiful church in Chanthaburi.
And if you visit the church and see it closer, you will find that it's very huge and the architecture of the church is really magnificent.
The art on the wall is also beautiful.
The following is an interesting archaeological site; you can learn part of the history of Chanthaburi from the below two buildings:
Tuek Daeng
Tuek means building
Daeng means red
Tuek Daeng or Red Building was the army center of the French in Thailand during the Colonial period. It was built more than 100 years ago.
Within the building, you will see interesting “ancient artillery”.
Next to Tuek Daeng, you will see another interesting building, called “Khuk Khi Kai”.
Khuk means prison
Khi Kai means chicken poop
This prison was also built by the French army. Thai prisoners who rebelled against the French occupation had to live in this prison with the chicken poop dropping. Or it was known as “Chicken Droppings Prison”.
Ah! It's a sad tragedy indeed....
Last but not least, if you would like to relax beside the sea, Chanthaburi also offers you wonderful sea view and white sand beach….
I can guarantee you that you will spend your time happily with your family in Chanthaburi! ;)
