As I mentioned in my previous entry, my aunt Sidney has been helping out with the formation of a new library in Unity, Maine. She wanted to give me a tour, so I thought I would share my experience on my blog, as well as post information to help get the library start off in it's first year.
They are hoping to open soon; they still have a lot to do. My Aunt was bringing books she had catalogued and was taking more home. She has a lot of muscle; carrying extremely heavy boxes like it was nothing while I clumsily attempted to help.
It seems the library's story is an interesting local tale. Here are a few relevant news articles.

If you are looking for a unique stay; they are running an Airbnb up on top of the library. You can book the East Suite here Or my personal favorite; the West Suite here (Lovely view and tiny library)
From the looks of it very well put together and stocked with everything I tell myself I need in an Airbnb. Coffee maker, wine glasses, a microwave and fridge; along with coffee, wifi, private bathroom, games, books, and your own mini library in the West Suite.
If you are in the area they could use some help; they do not need books at the moment but they really could use donations. Learn more about how you can help here
