After over a week of hotels, Airbnb's and couch surfing it was nice to get out into the countryside to see my aunt and uncle who live out in Unity, Maine.
This was also my first chance this trip to snuggle with my mom's cat Maggie.
I stayed in the same cute little country cabin I always do, but it is larger now and I shared it with my mother and Mags. I had trouble getting to sleep, but then I slept like the dead.
I spent the first day helping in the garden. It was hard work but I didn't want my mother and aunt to show me up. Unfortunately they did. I guess it is hard to compete with family that grew up on a farm and know all the plants by sight.
At least I learned a little about weeds and what they look like.
I hope I was some help at least. We had a lovely dinner that night and watched mysteries while I practiced animating some of my art in Procreate.
Yesterday I went with my aunt to view the progress on the new library she is helping start up and the attached BNB that is helping to pay for it; I will post a full blog about that soon when I get more info.
We had three lovely dinners, and last night my cousin came and we had a night out at a lively local bar. It had good food and I picked my cousins brain while pool balls clashed and maskless drinkers clustered together laughing.
Now the relatives are out harvesting and I need to finish cleaning and packing. Maggie just popped in the bed beside me while I finish up the blog. Off to Portland; more soon!
