Second day of our vacation in Austria.
Well, to be precise, we were more in Italy than Austria. In Udine.
Udine is a small but rather famous town in northern Italy. About 50km south of the Austrian border.
Spontaneously we decided in the morning to get into our (also italian) car and head south.
After 2 hours of a very curvy road (mountains ftw) we arrived in Udine.
As you can see, the city is quite empty. Tourists are almost completely missing due to Covid19. A bit sad, but also kind of ok to not be pushed trough small streets.
Two Panini with Prosciutto and Mortadella (no idea what the white stuff was) were our little snack. Delicious.
Weird thing: my wife and I speak 5 different languages, but somehow those italian waitress was not able to understand our orange juice order. Italian only, deal with it.
Yep, thats me. Just in case you ever wondered. What you probably never did, nevermind.
Time to go back. Switching from 32°C back to 17 in the mountains we went back to Austria.
Tired and hungry (as always) it was time for dinner.
Salmon with vegetables it is. You gonna to eat health from time to time.
But we don't want to overextend. Chocolate cake and Apfelstrudel needed to be on the menu as well.
And about this Death Star thing...
I came across this painting in our hotel. Don't tell me it doesn't look a bit like the unfinished Death Star from star wars?!
See you tomorrow guys :)
Panini con formaggio is one of very few things I can say in Italian. I wont starve :D
