The scariest hospitals in Odessa

Mysticism and paranormal phenomena surround the inhabitants of any settlement in the world. Odessa is no exception. Today we’ll talk about the three worst, most sinister hospitals in the city. Pictures that appear before the eyes of visitors terrify even the most daring. These hospitals can be the place of filming horror films.

Department of Odessa Regional Psychiatric Hospital No. 2

Mental hospital

This hospital for the mentally unhealthy people is popularly called the "Alexander". She received the national name thanks to the village in which it is located.

This building is by itself terrifying. The mental hospital itself was opened back in 1956. It was then that part of the premises was revived and settled here mentally ill. These territories are famous since the time of Stalin. There were prison barracks. Under Joseph Vissarionovich, a concentration camp was located here. The penal colony was serving sentences far from political crimes.

The ruins became known to the general public in 2016. It was then that the authorities of Odessa wanted to relocate the city archive here. The workers who arrived at the place were horrified and began to be baptized. Fortunately for archive workers, this idea was abandoned. But they still recall with horror the feelings that gripped them during a visit to a psychiatric hospital. It’s hard to say how long the destruction lasts. But the buildings themselves look very sinister!

This hospital is located at: s. Alexandrovka, on the shore of the Adzhalyk estuary. From the village of Kotovsky to the hospital is only 30 minutes away.

Maternity hospital №6

Maternity hospital - a place where children are born!

The building itself was built in 1903. Designed by Odessa architect Samuel Halperson. It was built in the style of decorative Art Nouveau. In the first decades it bore the name: Gavsevich’s Mansion. At the beginning of the Soviet period, the building was given over to college. But in the 60s it turned into an elite maternity hospital. Here they gave birth to wives and daughters of party leaders and prominent officials. This is not surprising, since the hospital itself was located next to a picturesque park on the Black Sea.

In 2001, the hospital suddenly ceased to exist. But, only in fact. Doctors were fired, some were transferred to other medical facilities. Legally, the hospital continued to exist. He even left the head doctor. But no one saw him. He passes only on paper.

Maternity hospital turned into a ghost house

Over the past 16 years, the hospital has been the private property of entrepreneurs. They even started the reconstruction. But there was enough enthusiasm to fence around the territory. Buildings continue to collapse. There is desolation all around, and in the chambers the wind and chaos reign. Nowadays, one can hardly believe that babies were born here before! What was joy and fun!

This hospital is located at ul. Black Sea №1.

Schweik

Hospital, garment factory and chaos

At the dawn of its existence, the building belonged to the hospital. Here people were treated. Then, already in Soviet times, an atelier was opened here, which grew into a sewing factory. But she did not exist for a long time. Gradually, the factory turned into ominous ruins.

In 2013, the factory burned out almost completely. The charred walls scared away the inhabitants of the surrounding areas. It was during this fire that a male corpse was found in the ashes. The man was burned and was unrecognizable. Another homeless person was poisoned by combustion products. In total, the building burned three times. All fires are associated with persons without a fixed residence.

Local lovers of mysticism and horror stories say that the building has a basement where the morgue is located and works. They kill people and take them out on a gurney. The inhabitants of Odessa claim that there is a large hole in the basement wall through which intruders penetrate it. But this is most likely an ordinary terrible legend, since the basement is flooded with water.

The hospital turned into a place of horror

Now homeless people live here. They arranged here not only an overnight stay, but also a restroom. The structure itself is not of interest. This is due to the fact that everything that was badly lying or sticking out of the walls was taken out of the factory building. Now a fetid smell is coming from the factory. Some argue that sometimes smell comes from decaying corpses. The terrible thing is that next to the factory building is a playground. Local residents try not to pass by the building in the dark.

Schweik is located at: st. Tereshkova 3/5.

In the future I plan to tell other stories of houses, including mystical ones. To be continued…
