The Curious Expedition - Greek Translation Part. 40

Current Session

Before talking about the actual translation, I'd like to remind everybody reading this to go vote for STEEM at http://contest.gonetcoins.com/ If Steem wins, we all win and that includes people writing for @utopian-io :D

Now, back to my translation. They say time flies and I can't believe I have reached my 40th contribution, which brings me to the completion of 48 % of The Curious Expedition!

Like with all my previous translations, there isn't anything really special to report. Translating the project is extremely easy and I again inserted a few original strings I came up with here and there. Again, I want to point that the DEVS of the project actually encourage us to do so, it's not an initiative I took by myself!

Here are a couple of the strings I worked on for this session, to give you an idea of what I am dealing with:

Let the tortoise free

I [happily welcomed $his return|gladly accepted $his change of heart|was happy to have $him at my side again]. [In these lands truly anything could happen|I had ceased trying to anticipate such behaviour|I wondered how $he had followed us].

Yep, child's play :D

And now allow me to close with something awesome @scienceangel shared with me today.

That's all dock!

Project Details

The Curious Expedition is a rogue-like expedition simulation set in the 19th century. It's the first game by indie developer Maschinen-Mensch. The game is available on Steam, GOG, Humble Store and at the official homepage http://curious-expedition.com. The game has been regularly updated through out the last 2 years. A list of all the updates can be found here. For information on modding the game, go here . [source and more info]

Gameplay

And here's what I believe to be the official trailer:

Why Did I Choose This Project?

Well, to be honest, I chose this project because all the other options were applications with boring names like Freecad and Jabref. I thought it would be fun (edit: less boring) to translate a game instead. And thank god... I was right!

I am sure my team members are very jealous that I get to translate strings like "Let's eat", "Giant tortoise", "I feel happy and sad", and "Oh my god" while they get to translate stuff like "resolving duplicate keys", "Port Design", "Constraining modifier key" and "Corrugated elements"... LOL!

Too bad for them, now they have to live with the choices they have made....MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Contribution Specifications

  • Translation Overview: This is a really large project, approximately 80.000 words and obviously it's gonna take me a while to finish. In each part I plan to translate anywhere from 700 to 1200 words. For the most part, the translation is very easy as there are few, if any, technical terms.
  • Languages: The project is being translated from English to Greek.
  • Word Count: According to Crowdin, for Part 40# I translated 1202 words, for a total of 40477 translated words. Since most of the strings translated were part of the in-game dialogues there were only a handful (1, maybe 2%) that were left in the original language, e.g. screenshot.

Credits

First I'd like to thank our very helpful and patient LMs, @dimitrisp and @ruth-girl for being awesome.

A shout-out goes of course to the other brilliant members of the Greek team: @katerinaramm, @lordneroo and of course the one and only @trumpman. A special shoutout of course goes to @trumpman2, I would be nothing without his constant support and guidance!

And last but not least, a big thank you goes to DaVinci and Utopian for keeping this project alive, running and developing!

This was the 40th part for the “Curious Expedition” project and your 43rd contribution to the translation category in total.

You are currently working on the Curious Expedition, a game that, even though it may not contain difficult terms and vocabulary, is one of the biggest projects a member of our team has ever tried to work on (almost 80,000 words). Good luck on this difficult task!
When you started translating, a handful of strings were already submitted (but not approved or voted) by another translator irrelevant to the Davinci-Utopian project. You have gone through them and checked them for any corrections that needed to be made, you have even fixed a few of them that were problematic.

Like in your previous contribution, you had a couple errors that I can't ignore. For example, a typo, and an extra "και". (Friendly LM reminder: are you tired? get some rest man, we need you!)

Your contribution post though was good, with all the details we needed and a more personal touch. Last, but not least, it was nice to see you went for 1000+ words in this translation!

Here is some Camomile to help you relax, just put it in some hot water:
