THE CHEAPEST ALTERNATIVE TO PAPERLIKE FOR THE IPAD

Half a year ago I purchased an iPad Mini to help boost productivity (and to be honest, leisure). 6 months on, and the iPad has already proven to be an invaluable purchase - having paid for itself amongst other things.

One of the things I was to do on the iPad was draw a lot. Drawing was a big passion of mine when I was a kid, and I was looking to revive that passion now as an adult. Progress has been slow, but steady.

Talking of drawing, one of the must have accessories for the iPad, apart from the Apple Pencil, is a matte screen protector that "replicates the feel of drawing on paper" for a more realistic experience. The most popular and industry leading brand is called "PaperLike". It features patented technology that creates a truly paper like experience when using the Apple Pencil on the iPad. The patent prevents other companies from duplicating it at a cheaper price - so the price is quite high for what it is.

I settled for the cheapest alternative I could find at the time, the KlearLook matte screen protector. I created an unboxing and initial impressions video when I first got it. I have since received a lot of questions from people interested in the product, but have reservations about it's quality.

Now 6 months on, I figured it would be useful to make an update video showing what it's like half a year on and answering the 4 most frequently asked questions in the process.

Questions answered

I guess I'm not the only one that spends a disproportionate amount of time researching products before buying them. This particular product is just over Β£8 at the point of writing this. I think I paid a little bit more for it - I can't remember exactly. At that price, even if it's a dud after a while, it's not that much of a loss for someone that paid for an iPad.

These were the most asked questions:

  • does the screen protector feel like paper?
  • Does the screen protector adhere correctly?
  • Does the screen protector make the iPad screen fuzzy?
  • Does the screen protector wear out the Apple Pencil's tip?

Peace & Love,
