I had to get my car serviced today. The little message was telling me to "Change the Oil". The closest car dealership to do the service was in Melton.
I've spent alot of time in Melton. A few good friends live there.
It is an Outer Rim Suburb on the Western Side of Melbourne.
Not far from the dealership is the Melton Botanical Gardens.
I was so surprised at the quality of the place. It is out of the way and, due to the lockdown, very quiet.
Being an ant man, there were a good variety of ant species. And just check out this huge ant nest. I saw a couple of these. They were a few metres wide, meaning, that the colony has been established for quite some time.
Notice how beautifully clear they make the ground around the nest. I assume it is to improve movement & to cause water to run off easily during rainfall.
You can walk long or short. It is super clean. I was told that it is mainly maintained by volunteers. I must admit that they are doing a great job.
There was a Black Swan event. 😅
Looks so nice there, are you sure the volunteers cleaned up not the ants? :)
😄
