Wednesday Walk Allen C Haskill Public Gardens New Bedford
This post if for Wednesday walk challenge And Make me Smile Collaboration challenge, initially our collaboration was once a month but due to the popularity of it we have decided to make the collab a weekly thing :)
Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.
This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines
Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.
Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.
Try and get a few shots not just one
Add a bit of a write up about where you walked
You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.
Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss
Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all, especially if its not one of the first 5 tags or I may miss seeing it .
Following me and re-Hiving the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.
I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules
I will try and visit, and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk.

As I mentioned above Wednesday Walk is collaborating with the [Make Me Smile] hosted by @elizacheng,

Your post can be writing, singing, video, poem,drawing, photography etc.... the most important part is your post Make me" smile, Remember, the ME is whoever read/view/listen to your post and this includes YOURSELF.

Wednesday Walk Allen C Haskill Public Gardens New Bedford
As I mentioned in a recent post I visited these gardens recently haven't seen a photo from there online and thought I would check it out, its a public gardens with free entry, and quite close to our house, infact its off a busy road we often drive down and we had never noticed it.
I went there to check it out but will go back again with Lulu soon so she can enjoy it, its a nice small area, with a few seats spread around and I think she will love it there.
I took many shots there and may well do a couple of posts on it, so this will just be an overview of the park and what I saw walking around it
This first photo I will talk about a bit later, just slipped it in here as it will look better on the thumbnail on the feed, than the first shot of this post

The late Allen C. Haskell, a lifelong New Bedford resident and famed horticulturist, assembled these six acres—the site of a traditional New England-style common, beautiful historic gardens, and one of the oldest homes in the city—over more than 30 years. Today, it’s a public park and unlikely botanical respite, blooming in the heart of New Bedford.

As you enter the gardens you come across this building which was closed the day I visited it

and when I followed the path to the right i came across this colorful greenhouse, when I left home to visit the gardens the sun was shining but clouds came in as I got there so it was a little dull, but this greenhouse with all its colored panes of glass really caught my eye, behind it there are 3 more greenhouses but not as colorful as this one

The gardens we well maintained, as you can see in this shot a Gardener was at work mowing the lawns off tot he right of the container that has been repurposed

It seems like a house is built in a vista, though its a garden but every photos in this post is very delightful and have a great contrast with its surroundings. The third picture in this post make me nostalgia but i never went there, the colour glass of the house is also beautiful.

Thanks for sharing your WALK. The park is so beautiful.The colours of nature is beautiful and they are like paintings. Today we recorded the daily all time high of 6075 confirmed cases. It was at 4k plus per day for the past few days. And today it shoots over 6k. So definitely no walking in the park for me now.

here the number of cases have dropped and things are opening up and if vaccinated one doesn't have to wear a mask everywhere, I still wear mine ioif around people i think there opening up to early but hope that I am wrong

Nice! This reminds me a lot of a place that we have in the town where I grew up. It is called Dow Gardens because the town is the home of Dow Chemical and Dow Corning. There have been countless members of the Dow Family that have lived in the town over the years. This looks like a really beautiful place and I can see why you enjoy visiting there. I hope to get some Wednesday Walk posts going once the weather finds a stable place!
It really is a hidden charm here, so few people seem to know about it we have mentioned it to a few people and none knew of it

I think it's good somehow that not many people know that place because you can enjoy it undisturbed with Lulu - it would lose its charme if hundreds of people would run around 😊

Wow lovely gardens, wide open spaces, very special colourful greenhouse, harmony within.
Just what the Doctor ordered, fresh air, sunshine and a good walk to keep one healthy, nice to enjoy the gardens with you.
It’s a small place so not a lot of walking which was good fir Lulu starting getting out again
Looks delightful with all the flowers in bloom, not many hills which will help with rehab, wish Lulu well and good to hear you getting out together now.
Thanks we just got home the museum and gardens we visited were nice the garden is mainly a rose garden and there not out yet but we will revisit

I am enamored with that greenhouse with the colored glass! What a spot of fun they provided. It makes my day to see anyone repurpose things. Waste not, want not. And they even made it fun for the kids.
These parts provide a nice reprieve from boredom for the kids, carefully selecting things to make it interesting. The landscaping is first-rate, even putting a nice lilac bush at the very end.

Lulu loves this place, when I took her the other day, our plans for lunch changed we ducked and picked up takeaway and ate it there under the trees, I am sure we will visit there often
Found another place yesterday a museum and gardens very interesting and will be a future Wednesday walk and Market Friday post
