The Harbor Walk at sunrise
This post if for Wednesday walk challenge And Make me Smile Collaboration challenge, initially our collaboration was once a month but due to the popularity of it we have decided to make the collab a weekly thing :)
Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.
This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines
Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.
Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.
Try and get a few shots not just one
Add a bit of a write up about where you walked
You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.
Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss
Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all, especially if its not one of the first 5 tags or I may miss seeing it .
Following me and re-Hiving the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.
I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules
I will try and visit, and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk.
Make me Smile Collaboration
As I mentioned above Wednesday Walk is collaborating with the [Make Me Smile] hosted by @elizacheng,

This weeks walk the Harbor Walk at Sunrise
Starting with my favorite shot on the recent walks I have done on the harbor walk, a slight burst of sunrise color with a bird flying by

Over the last week or so I have visited the harbor walk here in new bedford a few times, getting up a little after 4Am, grabbing my camera bag, getting dressed and heading there by about 4:30 ish to get some steps in and to catch the sunrise

Looking back along the Harbor walk not a spectacular sunrise but a nice glow on the horizon.
The harbor walk is a walkway on top of the New Bedford Hurricane Barrier on East Rodney French Boulevard. The hurricane barrier is said to be the longest in the world – and now, locals can enjoy its spectacular panorama while walking, jogging, and biking along this paved, elevated path, stretching about three-quarters of a mile

There are two options to park to enjoy the Walk, one at the end of Gifford Street, and the other by this pier, I do have a thing for piers especially at sunrise or sunset so you will no doubt see a lot of it in future posts

And another shot of the walkway, I normally walk it slowly stopping for shots until the sunrises, then fold up my tripod and walk back and forth it again getting some steps in and the odd shot here and there

I love the first shot - the sunrays and the silhouette of the seagull look so cool 😃 but also the others with the color glow and the pink clouds on the horizon are very nice, I like such subtle sunrises 😊
!BEER and !WINE - both make a nice dinner with !PIZZA :)

Awesome shots! This does look like a really beautiful place to walk. I can't imagine what it would be like to have that view and the fresh salt air every morning! This reminds me that I need to get to the ocean again. It has been far too long since I have visited.
Thats part of why I was happy to move here to be near the coast I do love my early morning walks this time of year

That first shot is pure gold! I love how you captured those rays, as they soar into the scene, the lone seagullgiving the shot more impact.
Its not a shot you can plan or predict, but, it certainly has a big umpact.Everything about it is brilliant!

OHh yeah I got so lucky with that shot, Was just catching the rays of light and the bird flew in :)
speaking of birds I saw an osprey catch a fish and fly by this morning, didnt get any good shots of it as I didnt have time to change the settings on my camera, maybe next time

Oh, they make such good shots witheir size a silhouette! You will have plenty of time to get one, especially feeding time.

Wow! Those are some spectacular shots - well worth getting up at 4:30 to catch them! Great that they made a walkway along the hurricane barrier for it seems like a wonderful place to walk!
