People in New Zealand went to the polls over the weekend in order to vote on legalization of cannabis for recreational purposes. Despite the vote being over now it's reported that the results might not be released for a few days.
In the meantime, the government is seeking proposals on what information to provide doctors in the region, on how they might instruct patients to go about using cannabis.
This is a change that could bring hundreds of millions in tax revenue to NZ and bring drastic changes to outdated cannabis laws in the region. Although, there would still be a tremendous amount of restrictions in place as far as who could sell, what could be sold, where you could consume it, and so on.
Despite it not being legal for recreational purposes currently, there are still many people who report having used cannabis in NZ, as you find in other countries where criminalization still flourishes. But people who need it for pain and others who just want the liberty to experiment etc, want to see a change come in the rules.
The New Zealand cannabis referendum preliminary results are expected to be released Oct 30th.

Liberty is the best route for America.
I hope more countries end this needless drug war. It has caused so much harm to the world.
