G-dog's weekend-engagement week ten: Topic post [110 hive in the prize pool]

in #weekend-engagement4 years ago (edited)

You do not have to know how to draw well to enter - I want to get that out there right at the outset. This is not a drawing contest, although drawing is involved, or digital art if you're keen.

I hope that was clear enough...Now down to business.

Welcome to week ten of the #weekend-engagement topic. That's right, ten weeks y'all. Who would have thought my little idea would run for so long!
For those who don't know what's up...Keep reading...

This is a concept I started to get more comments happening over the weekend. I also offer hive rewards transferred directly to the users wallet. Not everyone can win, but so far I've handed out almost 700 hive in prizes. Pretty cool right?

Prize pool sponsors (this weeks prize pool 110 hive)

As usual I'm going to start by thanking the sponsors who generously continue offering hive to give away which is a very community-oriented thing to do.

Thanks to this week's sponsors @bigtom13 (10), @tarazkp (20), @revisesociology (10), @abh12345 (10), @meesterboom (10), @xxxthorxxx (10), @stevenwood (10), @krazytrukker (10) and @galenkp (20)

Thank you also to those past winners who have thanked the sponsors, it's such a nice thing to do and I'm sure the sponsors are grateful.

This weeks topic

Because the world has been locked down due to the bastard virus people haven't been able to travel as much as normal.

I figured if people can't travel into our countries, let's take our countries to them so they can have something to look forward to when travel is permitted, and live a little vicariously at the same time.

So, the topic:

Draw yourself doing something in your country (easy as that)

Take a picture of it and post it in the comments below - You can use words in the comment to explain it if you like too of course.

I've drawn an image of my own above. It's terrible, I know.

You can see me snorkelling in the ocean looking at the fish completely oblivious to the shark about to eat me. The crab is trying to warn me but I can't hear him and will probably die. This is what happens when you go in the water in Australia. (Not all the time though. It's a numbers game)

Remember, being able to draw well is not an advantage here

In fact the worse and funnier the drawing is, the better I'll like it. Of course, drawing something amazingly good is fine too, just don't be disappointed if it gets beaten by something horrible like mine.

This is all about fun and engagement

I do this to get commenting happening on the weekend, to give people a reason to comment on someone they might not already know and to create some fun, and relationships. So being creative, adding humour and a sense of fun to your entry is recommended...As is Engaging!

You have until Sunday midnight 16th July to place your entry below and I will announce the winners and transfer the hive on Monday late afternoon, Aussie time.

Good luck and get drawing.

Design and create your ideal life, don't live it by default - Tomorrow isn't promised.

Be well

P.s. If you know someone who could use a few extra hive in their wallet please encourage them to enter.

Only for you, would I spend 15 minutes drawing something so wonderful, it blows my mind away. I even undertook the risk of having my laptop potentially explode, because that's just the kind of thing Windows Paint 3D does to a man's computer, I guess.

image.png

This frankly amazing illustration depicts me having a casual jog down a hill, before I proceed to run for my life, as durians come crashing and tumbling down the hill. Durians are the national fruit of Malaysia, and they're as Marmite-y as you could expect. You could love them, or absolutely detest them. Oddly for a Malaysian, I'm committing an act of national treason by hating durians.

They stink, and they're very prickly. Since they grow high up on trees, people have actually died as durians fall on their heads. Working at a durian farm then, is very perilous business. Here, you can see that I'm being burnt to a crisp by the beaming sunlight, and that's no puddle I'm jumping over... That's my sweat. It's fucking hot here, as seen with me being roasted alive...

Why Me.png

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

The durian-hating Malaysian... They must hate you!

We have durian here, imported. It is the foulest shit dude, but you lot love it up there...Except you, durian-hater.

I like your digital art. If those durian catch up with you they'll pummel you into submission! The thing is though, since your body is a finely tuned machine and you're an athlete those bastard durian will never catch you will they!

Thanks for sharing your artwork...Another masterpiece to add to the collection.

!ENGAGE 25

Ah, given how many Malaysians I know spend a lot of time Down Under, I'm not surprised that you've got that nasty shit being imported. I feel sorry for you, mate. It seriously sends a poker face to my mates when they're all having a durian party, and I tell them that I don't like it.

They'd seriously contemplate mauling a traitor to death with the shell of those prickly durians! Not sure if I could ever outrun them though, at least not forever. Thankfully, as that picture shows it well, the ground was levelling out. Otherwise, the police coroner's summary would be summarised simply as...

"Zack Norman, Male, 23. Cause of Death: Killed By Runaway Durian(s)."

Well, either you're a bad Malaysian, or your friends have bad taste...I reckon the latter because durian is truly heinous.

Yeah, I'm incline to agree with you. Sorry to all Malaysians, but I absolutely detest the durian, with all my heart. I hate it with a passion, even just the smell of it... Which is odd, since I'm also the only one in my household that doesn't like durians, too.

You're a Malaysian-durian-conundrum. 🥴

To eat, or not to eat, that is the question. Nearly threw up the first time I had a durian in my mouth... 🤢

Wow. We learn something new every day. I had never heard of this fruit. Can't blame you for hating it. Funny illustration

Lol, cheers! I'm glad to have been able to show you something new. It's an odd-looking fruit for sure, and Malaysians (other than me) really love this stuff. They use it for paste, chocolate filling, candy, and even ice-cream! It smells awful, though the taste is either awesome, or atrocious depending on the person.

image.png

Those things look like the little Koopa's from Mario, chasing after you trying to take your mushroom then your life! Those damn things are deadly, literally it seems!

I can't unsee it now, it really does look like a Koopa, especially with the spiked armour! Durians really are dangerous, and they have killed people before, as quoted in Wikipedia... 😨

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Durian

A durian falling on a person's head can cause serious injuries because it is heavy, armed with sharp thorns, and can fall from a significant height. Wearing a hardhat is recommended when collecting the fruit. However, people have died from durian falling on their heads, especially young children. Strong nylon or woven rope netting is often strung between durian trees in orchards, serving a threefold purpose: the nets aid in the collection of the mature fruits, deter ground-level scavengers, and prevent the durians from falling onto people.

I'm pretty sure I couldn't live in an environment where the trees can kill you. Just sayin'

We have lots of stickery stuff around here, but it remains in a fixed position. All you have to do is avoid them.

Every once in a while somebody falls into a cactus and that is never pleasant, but like I said, they don't come after you.

Lol, quite true! However, durian trees aren't freely grown like some other plants, like mangoes for example. They're usually grown in farms, so the risk of getting killed by a falling prickly fruit isn't so high, especially after some protective measures are put in place. Still, they're certainly dangerous!

I've heard of durian but have never seen it or taste it. I live in Europe, we don't have it here. Anyway, I guess I wouldn't like it either, so it may as well be me on the photo. Nice drawing 👍

Haha, thanks for the compliment! You should be glad to be in Europe. So far as I can see it, the farther away you're from durians, the better! They literally smell like garbage, though the taste is somehow to a fair number of people's tastes. They have this creaminess in its texture, thought the taste is a bit sweet-sour-ish...

image.png

I'm glad I'm in Europe, especially after seeing what is going on right now in the world. As about durian, I guess I would be sick in the second I would smell it.

Haha, I can definitely see the sick brewing in your stomach just looking at it! I kid you not, the smell lingers for hours at a time across your entire house once you've cracked this open, sometimes for an entire day! Suffice to say, many hotels around Malaysia ban durians from getting brought up to your room. We wouldn't have any tourists coming here if that was the case 😂

I've read somewhere that durian is banned in hotels, which is good I believe. I see no point in punishing people by making them smell the terrible smell 😁
You can lose all your customers.

Lol, you really can! Seriously though, since I'm living in an apartment, once someone brings a durian or two inside the elevator, that stink stays forever! And here they say Covid is deadly... You haven't been trapped inside of an elevator reeking with durians 😂

I liked that, little spiny, (american style), foot ball shaped fruit should not be called fruit. looks more like an ancient medieval period torture devise or weapon.

Exactly! I remembered that as a kid, I'd help my parents haul these durians in plastic bag. They'd always poke out and stab in me in the legs... Continuously! It tortures your body, your nose, and your taste buds.

I think that gif says it all when it comes to smell.

It's the exact reason why I chose it XD! I'm guessing this is how parents brainwash their kids into accepting durians as a part of their daily meal... Bind them to a chair, and slowly get them to like durians. First the smell, then the taste. Otherwise, who in the right mind would eat them? 😂

Thank you to the sponsors who are contributing to this endeavor. I suppose I will enter a drawing this week. To explain my drawing, it is me about to walk up a trail between mountains leading to a lake (notice I make it blue so you could tell it was water). Since we have a lot of these trails, and mountains, I thought this would be good to depict.

20200814_170250.jpg

This must be the most beautiful lake I have ever seen...Ok, I'm not dumb, I know it's just a drawing of a lake. But still, it's such a lifelike depiction. I can almost feel the cool water, smell the mountain fresh air.

Ah yes, you've brought a little piece of your part of the world to me and energised my day!

No comment could be left without mention of you...I mean that drawing of you. I can tell you've been hitting the home gym during covid, looking buff mate.

Thanks for taking the time to enter...And...Well, I'm just going to say it...You ever thought about a career as an artist?

!ENGAGE 25

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

I feel like I am there...

After a 12 pack of beer of course... Lmao

Posted using Dapplr

I thought that lake was a smoke signal the way native Americans used to light them. Then I read it now I see a lake.

It also kind of looks like a very old genie that can’t quite get back to the human shape after being stuck in a box of magical cereal. Given that he’s old, he can’t afford a cool lamp the way Disney makes them look so he had to go trailer park style and succumb to using a box of cereal. Not even lucky charms though, he could only afford ‘Irish mallows’ the brand that gets lucky charms unused leftovers at their factory.

Haha. I thought it was you parachuting 🤣

This is my bet so far. This drawing can transform into any thing you can think of. The first time I look I saw a shark teeth, the second time I saw a durian fruit thorn, the third time I saw stalagmites I wonder what will it be the next.

What a lovely lake in a lovely setting.

Our mountains here are a lot stubbier than yours, and none have lakes. The odd occasional snake, but no lakes.

Those mountains are highly and you're so tiny 🙂

I think mountain lakes, large and small are some great places to hike to. I used to enjoy a walk along mountain trails, it is something I miss sometimes.

I got busy and didn't get to reply to any comments this weekend. But some of these are pretty funny to read, thanks for commenting on my "drawing", I am a pretty great good something artist.

Here it is... Another award winning KT rendering.

This is simply called, G-Dog & Faith visit Florida (USA).

Even the 3 KrazzyTrukkerKitz™ came out to welcome you both.!

Hey, watch yer head. Coconut Alert.!

Galen Faith Drawing 20200815.jpg

Florida, ah yes the land of coconuts and ... well nuts in general. Where raindrops don't dance on the head but try to smash into the head. A little bit better than Alabama, but not much. A nice place to visit yes.

Captured her bloody beanie perfectly! You know, I'd throw it out but there's no point, she has a drawer full of them! Lol.

Damn FLA and it's laser-guided dropping coconuts! Looks like the old G-dog is about to get clocked on his noggin. Lucky it's coconut-hard and impervious to smart-bomb-coconut strikes!

Hot Florida sun and those thunder storms don't sound great, a lotlike the tropical north of Australia, but I reckon we could dodge the rain and lightening then crack on with a cook-out, some burgers maybe, and have a good laugh!

Thanks for joining in mate, a pretty cool entry and despite the old G-dog being targeted by FLA coconut bombs I reckon it looks like a good-old time!

!ENGAGE 25

That's a pretty good depiction from my knowing. It's pretty much like that here except for the moisture. Nothing rots here, it dries out so completely that it'll last forever.

That and we don't have any water on our beaches.

That pretty much encompasses Florida quite well! Palm trees, the sun that's going to boil your toenails off, the thunder storms that are going to take your car down a river that was once a road then give you sunshine 5 minutes later. Gotta love the things you get in Florida!

October thru March are absolutely the best weather on earth. Low Humidity, no bugs, mostly sunny and dry. Cool to chilly nights. Kinda like this song says...

Just gotta go thru 6-7 months of Weather Hell, Bugs as big as birds, Sauna like days and nights to get there.... lol

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

This is me doing what I do every day, playing my instruments, singing for my country, trying to put aside all the bad things, all the dirty politics.
Now that I am in Hive, I feel more motivated to continue doing it. Some day we'll do in Venezuela what people in other parts of the world do (Even with the pandemic).

IMG_20200815_222059.jpg

Thanks for drawing this, what a wonderful one here! Being able to get away from all the bullshit and spend time doing something you love and helps you forget the bad things is awesome. It helps that you sing incredibly well, as well!

Thank you!
Yes, I think that's why I do it a lot, so many things to forget and to try to ignore, from my country and the rest of world...
Anyway, it helps a lot to concentrate in things that make You happy, and i'm glad I can make others happy with those things I do!

Dirty politics and bad things don't sound very inviting to be honest. Maybe a bit of music breaks the negativity of those things.

!ENGAGE 25

Exactly! That's why I do it the whole day, it keeps me disconnected...

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

Sing and play for Venezuela. It seems the only alternative is to weep.

Thank you for being here!

It isn't the only alternative as you can see, there's no much I can do but to try to make people forget things with my music at least for a while, anyway happiness is only temporary, right?

You have a violin and a guitar too! Are you able to play them both in the same time? 😁

I wish I could 😁
I'm working on it 🙃

Good luck with getting an extra set of hands to handle both 😁

Thanks 😁🙃

Sometimes we just need to step back from the politics and have a good day. It is not like the politicians are going to go anywhere until they are caught with their hands in the cookie jar.

Yes! That's what I always say to my parents...

inbound6912047673506786442.jpg

This is how the situation of the country where I am. Many changes due to the covid19 pandemic. It's the picture of the people, the mosque, the house and the mall where few people went on. Most of the time people are buying online.

There is a police officer who was watching these who never obeyed the law.

There are no people in the plaza or park. Before traffic was so heavy but now there's a few running on the road.

I am on the rooftop watching the entire city with my fake daughter. There is no covid on the rooftop.

Thank you @galenkp. I just try my luck. I'm laughing looking at my drawing.

Thanks for entering this week.

It sure seems like your country is one to avoid due to all the penalties and restrictions. It certainly doesn't sound like a good place for a holiday. Maybe in the future huh?

This is a good drawing, colourful and interesting. A great entry.

!ENGAGE 25

The penalties were imposed to avoid people going outside during pandemic. This time is better, some regulations had changed compared to the previous king. They are now attracting and give tourist visas.

Hopefully the tourists come back huh?

I hope so, there are many hidden beautiful places here and tourism are just opened.

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

I'm thinking a fake daughter doesn't take near as much care and concern as the flesh and blood types. Do you put her in the dresser or hang her in the closet when you are finished with her? I have a very real dog, but in some instances a fake one would be superior.

What I said, my fake daughter is the youngest daughter of my boss who is so dear to me. I'm taking good care of her since birth and eventually she is calling me Nanay, which is a Filipino address to their mother. She is the one who branded me as a fake mother since she has her mother around. She loves me so much and I love her too.
Thank you for dropping by @bigtom13

Interesting drawing Olivia, nice to see you here 🙂

Thank you @erikah, it's too funny drawing. I'm not an artist.Nice meeting you here too.

I liked the drawing. It is a shame what the politicians and the experts are saying. Be save, be aware, try to be free, in spirit if not in body.

Right! Thank you for the reminders. It's hard to elaborate all the story. This place is not an open country like others but definitely, it started to be open now a day. I'm safe as long as I follow the rules and restrictions.

Hi! @machiqui63, he recommended your contest and here I am with my participation. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to draw, without fear. Meet el Ávila travel its paths with me, it is an experience of height from Venezuela to the world.
IMG-20200814-WA0074(1).jpg
I am on an excursion in the Waraira Repano National Park or Cerro El Ávila, the space of connection with the mountain.
The yellow is its flora, the Araguaney National Tree of Venezuela. Its fauna is the bird called turpial is the national bird of Venezuela.

And remember, to love the mountain is to protect it and take care of it Zero waste!

Thanks for your entry, a very nice one it is to!

You have a bit of everything here, including the national bird of Venezuela. Your drawing is colourful, contains all the requirements I asked for and is a welcome addition to the #weekend-engagement topic competition this week. Thanks for participating, your first time I believe.

!ENGAGE 25

Thank very very much! I had a Lot of fun drawing it! Yes, it is my first time participating, I loved this contest, it's very different and súper fun to do! Thank you again! Have a nice day!

You're welcome and thank you again for joining in.

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

I like the old name. Cerro El Ávila sounds much more honest. Great drawing. You look like Simón Bolivar there 😁

Hahahahha

What a great way to show your country's forest! You did a great job drawing this one for sure!

Thank you very much! I had a Lot of fun doing it!

I love how many people have chosen hiking, tracking, mountain climbing.... Looks like we all love and miss nature.

It is amazing to me how when we are all in a lock down we dream of the mountains and lakes and forest and seas. place our souls know set us free if even for only a short time.

Hello @galenkp, super grateful, with your invitation to join this great contest. This this is my first participation of many that are to come.

In the beauty nature I see

IMG_20200815_115525.jpg
A Guacamaya gives me his visit.
A Guacamaya flies through the skies, sounding the always memorable sunsets of the Caracas-Venezuela.
The echo of their cries - which are called to be picked up at the end of the day - resonates in the buildings, making the people of Caracas forget for a moment the chaos of the city and give themselves a smile.
From my window I watch her I feel that she is giving me her visit, I am grateful to her.

That must be a gorgeous sight to see. Great drawing.
We had a Guacamaya once at home. She became our dog. Best guardian ever. Could not fly, was injured when little, but she would strech her wings and run after anything that moved, especially humans.

Who needs a guard dog when one has a guard guacamaya!

Ohh so cool! I have always loved Guacamayas, they bring me so much joy! Hahhahhaha that sounds like fun! What was her or his name?

A nice colourful bird. Are they common around the area or is it rare to see one? You've done a good job drawing this one so thank you for entering this week.

!ENGAGE 25

Thank you very much! Yes, they are very common in Caracas, around 6 pm they pass by and you can feed them with some seeds or fruit and enjoy their company for a while! It's great!

I'm sure they are nice to see.

Anyway, I'm sorry to see you unfollow me just now. Maybe you'll come back around sometime in the future and find value in my posts.

All the best.

What? Noo, I'm still following youu. I just checked I really love your posts tbh hahahaha I don't know what happened, maybe check again? Maybe you got the wrong username?
Let me know, best regards!
Also, I'm suuuper thankfull that you liked my drawinggg

Maybe you unfollowed then refollowed? I get notifications as below. All good. No harm done.
image.png

Ohh, maybe I did by mistake?
Anyways the important thing is that I'm still following you hahaha!
Loving your content btw, maybe one day i'll have the luck to go to Australia!
Best wishes✨

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

That looks like a really wonderful bird you've drawn there! I love seeing those colorful birds when I visit warm places. They make such nice music too with their chirping!

Thank you! Yes! I really love them, every day around 6 pm the come around and you can feed them some seeds and hear their chirping! Have a nice day!!

Beautiful bird. I am at least a little bit jealous because everything around here is beige in the summertime.

Omg! Thank you! Here in Venezuela everything es very colorful, at least we have that hahahaha. Where are you from?

Yuma, Arizona. The very South West US. In the middle of the Sonora desert. It will remain brown here until we get some rain. Which could be quite a while.

A flight of freedom, as we fight for or to maintain our freedoms. A very nice drawing, I enjoyed it and the words.

My mummy sais i'm a weely good dwarerer, soon I can have penz on my next birfday.

This is the fillypeens its hot and sunnie with fish and beaches.

At McDonalds they sell spaggetty with sweet sauce.

P8161238.jpg

Ah yes, a very true to life depiction of diving in the Philippines I'd say, complete with a seven tentacled octopus and old-mate Claude the crab making a cameo; Clearly he's on vacation from Australia. With a drawing effort like this I'm not surprised your mum is upgrading you to pens at your next birthday.

!ENGAGE 25

Clawd snipped off one of it's tentacles, they got into a fight over a girly crab while Claude was doing his thing, showing off and flexing his muscles.

I'm pretty good with crayons but mummy won't let me use them because I eat them.

That'll teach the crabby bastard! He's a show off!

Crayons are tasty...I like the red one's the best!

Mmmmm soapy/waxy gourmet food in Cornwall.

Cornish Crayonish pasties! Yum!

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

Well i'll have to look for a girl who accepts tokens for marriage, i'm sure she's out there somewhere.

OMG, quick get back in the boat, there is a big toothed smilydon shark coming after you. Nice rendition of a dive.

Haha, it's for sale at the right price:) Could be worth a fortune in years to come.

The smilydon is very rare in these parts, it's good to see you know your ocean dwellers.

I just spent a few days watching Primeval BBC series, well seasons 1-3, 4 and 5 are not free yet. I liked that old series.

Never seen it, maybe that's one for my binge watch list.

Time travel, dinosaurs, and actually pretty well acted.

I'll give it a blast sometime, cheers dude.

OK then, here we go. This is Sam and I (Sam is in front) walking in the desert near Yuma, AZ. Note that I am wearing a boonie hat, long sleeved shirt and long pants. The sun is actually not to scale as it is actually much closer and much brighter.

xdesertzoom.jpg

If you look carefully you will see a Saguaro Cactus. They only grow in the Sonora desert and are unknown for much of earth. Like everything in the desert, they are big, over 10 meters tall. This one is well over 50 years old because they don't put out their 'arms' until at least 50. Not only is the desert really big, it's really old.

If you could use a magnifying glass on this picture you would see we are walking on mostly crushed rock. Lots of crushed rock. This place has had 2 mountain ranges grind themselves into crushed rock. Maybe since the last rain.

I thought about showing a picture of me at the Grand Canyon but it is REALLY big. You wouldn't be able to see me at all, and this is all about me.

I'm going to close with the actual picture I drew. This is zoomed in as far as I can without pixelating the whole mess. This shows the scale a little better. I'm telling you, the desert is gifuckingnormous.

xdesertwide.jpg

So there you have it. A twofer. You are welcome.

Do they move, the Saguaro Cactus? I notice you are camouflaged as one in the drawing? Or is the camouflage to ward off evil desert spirits?

Nope, Saguaro Cactus are very much fixed in place.

Any resemblance between me and the Saguaro is entirely accidental, influenced by only 3 possible color choices. Sam would have been brown if I'd had more choices...

Lol, thank goodness for the zoom function!

Well, this clearly deserves to be in a David Attenborough documentary about desert enormity. I can hear him now, explaining how those two mountain ranges ground themselves into small rocks and sand and how one feels minuscule in comparison...And along in the background is Tom and Sam walking by, just minding their own business, being minuscule.

I like the juxtaposition between the cactus and yourself, almost cactus-like in form as well.

Masterful drawing. Expect the Louvre to call...They'll be wanting to hang this one for sure.

I can see you're sun-smart which is good...No point risking skin cancer huh?

!ENGAGE 25

It's a really good place to think about your importance in the overall scope of things :)

I'm not very good with perspective. The Saguaro are generally about 10 meters tall and weigh over a ton. There is a true story of a dickhead teenager in Phoenix who decided that a Saguaro had to die so he blasted the base with a shotgun until it fell on him. They found him a day later squashed. They are vindictive, it seems.

Here is young (no arms) saguaro that has been badly damaged by bullets.
Saguaro.JPG

For scale, here is a selfie (one of maybe 4 I've taken) right in front of it.
Saguaro Selfie.JPG

I'm 6 feet 4 inches. Damn near 2 meters.

Humans are assholes huh? (The cactus-shooter). I saw a doco about these things. Pretty cool. I didn't realise they were that big until I saw the show. You know, I always pity people who say they wouldn't know what to do with vast amounts of money...So much to know in this world, so many places to go. What sucks is I have the desire, but not the money to go do it! ☹️

I know, huh? I'd be the worlds most exclusive motorcycle tester. When the damn thing needed an oil change I'd trade it for the next one! I'd probably give Harley Davidson another try at that rate. Maybe.

Lol...Maybe. 😂

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

wheres all the snakes???? Gotta be a shit ton of snakes out there surely. And a pic of you running away indiana jones stylee :)

Not a shit ton. Too hot and too little available food. In our little part of the desert we have some sidewinders, but out in the big desert it's almost all diamondbacks and not all that many of them. You will occasionally see one in the shade of a saguaro.

good to hear. My missus is scared shitless of snakes. Wores than indiana jones she is

I don’t think Galen used a coupon, how did he get two?!

That desert looks small, kind of. Especially if you’re on drugs wearing a long sleeve and long pants!

The sun turning your skin from an egg shell white to lobster red them big boiling bubbles is the only way to experience the desert. Take the shirt off!

Oh, man. I've had the bubbles, trust me on this. That's why the loose full coverings (I think maybe those Arabs are onto something).

Once when I used to shave my head I spent a mistaken few hours in the sun without the hat. It peeled for a couple of weeks, and it hurt to shave. I was a serious mess.

There was a REALLY pretty girl involved. A REALLY pretty girl that rides a motorcycle. A REALLY pretty girl that rides a motorcycle and carries a .45 Colt on her hip. It was probably worth it, all in all.

It sounds worth it to me! The things we do for the really pretty ladies. I’m surprised humanity is still alive in some regards!

WTF Man..? All about You!

What about Sam..?

Ehhh, just a stinkin ol dog anyways... Lmao

You must know I am joking, We love doggy dogs. And not just the G-Dog kind. :-p

Posted using Dapplr

Well, Sam thinks it's all about him, I have to get my licks in where I can!

That's like me with cats. I always call them stinking cats and everybody thinks I hate them. They don't realize that my last two were both named 'stinking cat'.

I like the detail of the shading it looks natural.

I love your shoes and the dog.

This is me hawking at the village roadside. Since crops have started producing, its time to start selling and make some pennies

IMG_20200816_161046_144.jpg

My neck would hurt from carrying that basket 🙂

Yep, harvest time, and selling off the produce, is a good time for sure. How long do you spend selling the stuff, all day?

!ENGAGE 25

I hope it is a plentiful harvest for your village.

I love this inicitaive!

normal day.png

I really don't know hoy to draw using paint. However is so good you don't have to be an expert to show your environment.

This is what happens after a rainstorm in my neighborhood. People carrying on wheelbarrows loads of soil to their houses. Can you imagine the use of it?

I assume the soil is for garden beds right? Growing vegetables?

Thanks for joining in this week and for your nice drawing.

!ENGAGE 25

@galenkp, not even close. People use the soil for the houses floors. Some houses get flooded because of the rain.
So sad, I know!

Ah ok, yeah I was way off!

It's interesting to hear about the differences between countries I guess. We live in a big world and there's so many huh?

Yeah, differences are huge. But it's in our hands to make a change for the world in which we're living.

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

What a nice day, laying around on the roof, soaking up some sunshine after a rain, a few minutes respite before getting back to work.

Hi, guys
Here's my drawing of me doing what venezuelans do most lately: protesting/waiting in lines (to demand water, gas or any other basic service).

IMG_20200815_191508.jpg

Such a great little drawing, despite depicting a scene of nation strife. Great perspective too! It's a shame people in a modern society have these issues and so much trouble getting basic needs. I hope this situation improves although as far as I understand it the issues have been continuing for some time already right?

So, I wouldn't say that this entices me to want to come to VZ on holiday however I hope it all moves forward and improves soon.

!ENGAGE 25

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

Ah that's a tough day in the life. Thankfully you have us over here on hive to help keep you occupied and even support you with some income from our votes!

Hopefully the political games that are being played in Venezuela stop and we can return the country back to a normal state!

I can understand your drawing perfectly. I've been in that situation myself. I know exactly how it feels to live in insecurity and watch the situation getting worse every day.v

It may take time but things do change, peace does come, and needs do get met, for a while at least. Many battles have been fought for the souls of the common man, many more I am sure will be fought.

Thanks. I sure some change will come; the question is when. We may probably not see it

Believe me when I say it wasn't easy coming up with something I can showcase to you in case you ever get to visit Nigeria. However, I thought as much among all the list I had down, why not bring to you a place you can never see somewhere else.

Here is my entry

IMG_20200815_143929_387.jpg

Well, as you can see, I am standing in front of a building. It is a museum in Calabar, Nigeria. The reason I would like to take you to this particular place, or bring this particular place to you is so you can have a glimpse of the history of the country you visited!🤣🤣Wola!

The Calabar Museum is notable for the powerful record of the nation's history that it holds within its walls. The Calabar Museum is a slave trade museum set in a beautiful colonial structure. The museum offers a variety of exhibitions which include artefacts and artworks of pre-colonial and colonial era as well as documentations on slave trade and relics of British Empire.

I would have drawn little of these sculpture and arts found within but there aren't space left for them.

Hope you enjoy this entry!

Cheers🥂🥂

I always tend to visit local museums when I travel to new places as it gives me a really good idea of what a place is truly all about. I like history too, so it's a double win. This is a nice drawing of the building and I can see you've been working out at the gym.

Thanks for entering.

!ENGAGE 25

Ha ha... 🤣🤣 It was until I posted it I also saw the visual confirmation in the drawing that I am working out at the gym. So glad you noticed that as well. And yes! History is very cool to me. It more like a prediction of the future from the past.

What's your favourite part of history? Do you have a particular interest?

Yea, actually I have lots of favorites when it come to history. But if I were to most favorite, it would be that era of slave trade during the early 90s or so in my country.

I would love to go deeper into that story beyond what is shown on the screen. Like go behind the scenes. In most cases that I have discussion with other friends of mine concerning interests like this, in most cases we both come to the conclusion that the blacks being enslaved wasn't at all the fault of the whites. Mentality stood out which is one major reasons why the whites were able to manipulate the fathers of our time to gain access to power in a foreign land. Combined with the advancement of technology that we failed to follow after in development. While the whites were busy advancing their techs, we were just too satisfied with the Spears, Bow and Arrow.

And things aren't stored in museum for child's play. While they are to explore which could be fun, they're also there for us seeing into the past to know the beginning and how we can structure the community for a better development, which will also be history one day.

However, the history at which the independence of the nation was born is absolutely incredible. A story itself. And these are things are why I really wanna visit the museum to get to behold the physical elements and see behind the scene. To me, Google is not enough!🥂

in most cases we both come to the conclusion that the blacks being enslaved wasn't at all the fault of the whites.

Interesting you say this as there is compelling evidence that implicates African's involved in the slave trade; I guess it seemed a handy way to make a few dollars whilst eliminating rival villages, or individuals, at the same time. The belief that the slave trade was purely perpetrated by whites is preposterous. There are many to blame for the travesty that was the slave trade. Having said that though, it went back much further than the African slave trade to America...People have been enslaved and traded for thousands of years. Even African's enslaved African's.

Anyway, it's an interesting time for sure, tragic, but interesting so I can understand your interest in it.

You may like to chase down this book and have a read, it's one of the classics.

Roots: The Saga of an American Family by Alex Haley

If you are interested in the slave trade then you need to read this book. I read this when I was ten years old and didn't understand the full meaning of it, I read it in my mid-twenties and came to understand how powerful a book it really is. I hope you look it up and have a read.

Wow! Yea, Africans are also involved in the slave trade. After all, Africans sold Africans to other powerful nation in need of man power and all that.

Thanks a lot for the recommendation of the book above. I will surely look into it. 🥂

I love visiting museums when I travel to places. It's so nice to learn about the local history and culture! There is so much to learn wherever you go. I want to make it over to Nigeria someday! I've gotten to know so many of you through hive here, it's fantastic!

Hurray!!!💥💥💥💥 Am thrilled to see that Nigerians has caught you attention on hive. Seems we are making waves after all. And yes!🇳🇬 Nigeria is always open and welcome to go foreigners. Infact, it is a home to many. And I have no doubts you will learn so much from the fantastic history recorded at the museum.
Thank for the comment.🥂

They say you know a country only if you know it's history. I like how you think.

Wow! This statement just melted my heart. Thanks a lot bro. Really appreciated!

I'm not a bro, but you're welcome.

It looks like it would be an interesting place to visit, I found and bookmarked a jstor book about the place for later reading.

Oh yeah! Believe me when I tell you, it is an interesting place you don't wanna Miss if you ever find yourself in a country like mine. The history of course is much more like super incredible. Tragedies a d of course, comedies!

🤨Thanks for stopping by here🥂🥂

and behold! the woks of Leonardo De Scubahead

BB.jpg

any art gallery worth their salt would surely have this on the wall.

Leonardo De Scubahead does it again...A perfect depiction of his last moments of life...Of course, just one possible outcome and not, hopefully, the one that actually eventuates.

A nice touch to add your age, as if you have to define that a three year old wasn't responsible. We all know you're one of the true masters of artistic pursuits though.

Anyway, that boat...That shark. Yeah, probably not going to end well. You know, we had a great white (expected) attack (or bump into) a boat back in July. Link below.

I know exactly what to do. I will simply insert paddle into sharks mouth in a vertical orintation thus preventing any unnecessary and quite frankly ouchie biting and such like. Then give the naughty shark a little spanking and send it on it's way

I thought I was looking at the movie poster for jaws for a moment here!

yup thats kinda what I was aiming for. We only get whalesharks really around here so it would be more like " GUMS" as they have no teeth

So. Leo. You mind if I call you Leo? I was just wondering about the helicopter? How did that ever work out?

twas a gyrocopter my god man! Its still in the area. I saw it in the sky today.. They take all my ideas bahhhh

Watch out, you're about to be eaten by a big shark! 🦈😁

whaa??? where????? argghhhhhhh

I hope you have your really big down under knife, one even bigger than Crocodile Dundee's, that way when you are gobbled up whole you can cut your self free.

I'm the shark whisperer 😂

I decided to draw myself crossing the bridge in my car, in Maracaibo, Venezuela, where I live with my family, from there I have a panoramic view of the city. There is a very popular song that says "When I go to Maracaibo and I start to cross the bridge I feel such great emotion that my mind is clouded and I am unintentionally crying", it is what those born in this city feel when we leave and return later a long time.

Maracaibo is a very beautiful city known as the beloved city of the sun, since it is one of the hottest places in the world and where its imposing sun keeps our skin tanned, you don't need to go to the beach. We have the “Rafael Urdaneta” bridge that crosses Lake Maracaibo and connects us with the rest of Venezuela, it is considered the longest concrete bridge in the world.

Maracaibo is characterized by its colonial buildings, there is a very emblematic place called Carabobo street where its houses are very colorful, that is why I drew these houses in my drawing. All who come must know this beautiful place full of friendly people who will welcome you with open arms, there you find places where they sell crafts and the typical food of the city.

We are people very devoted to the Virgin of Chiquinquirá, that is why I also drew the Basilica in the background, a yellow church where the image of our patron saint is located.

I was delighted to have shown you through my drawing a little piece of my Maracaibo, if you ever come to Venezuela, do not stop visiting us, we are cordial people with a big heart always ready to help tourists!

Thanks for joining in the #weekend-engagement topic this week. Your drawing is really nice and I hope you had a little fun creating it. From what I've heard it seems Venezuela has a few problems at the moment so it's unlikely I'd take a holiday there, but I hope it clears up and tourism can resume.

I really love your picture. All the bright colors send positive vibes and hope. Thanks!

For me, this is the coolest drawing so far. I love how you drew the houses and the bridge and how colorful your drawing is. Nice job 👍

it is nice to see colorful homes in a row, I remember some areas I ahve seen in movies and pictures of town houses and brown stone complexs that are all painted a different color, some bright and cherry, some kind of dull looking to my eyes, but if the dull looking ones were anywhere else it would be a stand out paint job.

Last weekend, The Sagrada Familia Cathedral had a special day. Only neighbors were able to visit for free during a few hours.
Due to Covid19, there are very few visits from tourists from other countries so they are inviting locals to visit the place. I know it is very bad for the economy but it is also nice to be able to visit this places with much fewer people.
I had been in the building many years ago when you could just take the long stairs to the top of the towers. Now the middle and highest tower is being built and you can already get inside of the building since they ended the internal church. It is impressive!

I would visit that beautiful place too. Maybe one day.

Yeah! I finally managed to do the bad I could, let me tell you that I did my best and I only thought about each stroke, it brings out the worst in you.

full adrenaline in the mountains via La Colonia Tovar, Venezuela, I had fun behind the lens watching my daughter not lower the tones of her screams that kept the birds away, while my relaxed son watched the show. It is one of the places with my family that I enjoy the most.

IMG_20200814_080701.jpg

This is awesome! Nice colours , excellent perspective and shading...Well, none of that really, but good anyway! I like the nice touch you added to your daughter screaming...Aaaaaa! 😂

This is an excellent drawing and I like it a lot!

!ENGAGE 25

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

Lol, looks like you chose adrenaline too. Nice drawing by the way and cool activities.

As if I couldn't tell the daughter from the son with out the scream.

I think the G-dog should probably have a category for the more professional type artists like you. Just sayin'

Another one of those semi professional artist types. I'm starting to feel unworthy.

And I only had delusions of adequacy before.

Lol sorry, I did my best 🤦, but the categories thing is a good idea, I think it could be outstanding 😘

Too many kids love to play. And yeah the word "Aaahh" is the main attraction of this drawing.

loving the "aaaaaaa" quality 😃

I nearly thought it was you screaming aaaaaaaaaaa over there. I think you told us it was her but you wanted to have fun and give it a try!

Really nice colors here!

I'm going to tell you my secret, I really was the one of the Aaaaaaaaaaaa, but euphoria, it was a fantastic flight, it hurts that it was an adventure without programming and I only have that poorly made drawing. Do not tell anyone.😜

All the activities within the image portrays fun! What a nice entry you've got here🤩🤩

Come for the sunset views and wiener dog walks at the marina in Edmonds, WA, USA. Located on the shores of the Puget Sound you can gaze across the salt water towards the Olympic Mountain Range to the west. 😍
CF8C27B0-DFC3-41C4-8B09-5A6B2CBD5F3B.jpeg

I've been here!! And now I feel like I am back, I can even smell the ocean.

(do your dogs bump their heads a lot or does one walk backwards?)

usually sniffing each others backsides dogs. Communication apparently

I still can’t believe you came to my town and hung out without me a half hour after hanging out with me! 🤣😂🤣

Come back. Edmonds wants your glorious sales tax $$. 😄

I was in Edmonds a couple years ago. I decided it was a really good idea to ride a motorcycle for the entire distance of US Highway 2. From the shores of Puget Sound to Sault Ste Marie, Michigan. Dammed if I wasn't right, it was a good idea :)

Oh! @vgholdingsllc has been talking about doing that this summer. He is in Michigan yet always says he is heading west for vacation. On Hwy 2!

You make a compelling case here, about visiting this lovely part of the world. This drawing should be picked up by the WA tourism board for use in all of their marketing. Just sensational.

Those dogs though, are they involved in a Mexican standoff to determine who gets to eat the last Schmacko dog treat?

Thanks for joining in and your great entry...To be honest your drawing standard far exceeds the standard expected, but it is most welcome.

Have a great weekend.

!ENGAGE 25

😄 This was fun. I enjoy showing off my elementary school level art skills. Thanks for hosting this and for the hive prize!

Haha, the only hive-contest where you get rewarded for drawing badly! Trust the G-dog to come up with that!

Thanks for entering...This week will be something different..Drawing maybe or maybe not. I'll have to get my thinking cap on.

I once helped my mate teach a few scuba classes in the puget sound. Always thought it was cool seeing the seattle skyline in the distance while freezing my chuddies off at the surface. Lovely part of the world. I still have friends there, need to visit again

Chuddles” 🤣😂🤣

We have an underwater scuba park right off the beach in our part of the sound. All sorts of random sunken stuff to swim around.

Those dogs look like they are become soulmates for the first time. I want to put a plate of spaghetti between them!

Looks like a really nice view indeed!

BF58D237-255C-4828-9DF7-BE85FA17B91F.jpeg

Not quite a plate of spaghetti, but close! 😄

I don't know about others but as for me, what I love most about this entry is those cute little dogs🤗🤗awwwnnnn.... Nice entry 👌

Ahhh. Thank you! It’s these guys! 😄
72433AF4-7761-4A1F-9348-81CBC846D9B5.jpeg

🤣🤣🤣 fantastic! My instinct was right. They sure are cute dogs

It looks so sharp and sunny, it almost blinds my eyes. Those dogs are so well drawn they are about to eat each other. Amazing how those tales move!🤣
I remember years ago teaching English with a book that included a reading about Puget Sound. My students never understood the meaning of "sound" there

😄 I am glad you picked up that detail of their wagging tails!

I love the little bird 🐦 on the log and the wooden fence, and your skirt too 😁

😊 Thank you!

Hello @galenkp,
Interesting weekend challenge, I was about to miss the fun, here is my drawing hahaha.

Captura de pantalla 2020-08-16 a la(s) 7.11.06 p. m..png

I do not see the day when I can climb back to the top of the mountain and breathe clean air.

I'm sure you'll get to go hiking in the mountains in the future, but we have to get this covid situation out the way first huh?

!ENGAGE 25

You are right, my friend! A fearsome enemy that is close like a sword of Damocles. Yesterday I had the sad news, a cousin died from being infected (the first of my relatives). His mother, my aunt, who is close to her eighties, fell ill with mild symptoms, surviving the death of a son, for any parents, a devastating event.

I'm sorry about your cousin, such a shame. Was there any underlying health issues that complicated the situation?

Hypertension.

OK, it's interesting to see the number of covid-deceased who had underlying health issues as opposed to those who did not.

Yes, I think it is very necessary to know those data. There are many people who still think that they are exaggerating in the measures with good reason, but it is not fiction, it is very real. Data analysis will help formulate a more effective strategy to prevent infections, including applying the appropriate treatments.

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

Before I begin thanks to the sponsors, as always! This is such a fun lighthearted thing to do on the weekends, I really look forward to participating in it each week!

So I wasn't sure what this weekend engagement topic would be for me this week but after hearing the shooting range yesterday I think I knew I wanted it to be something about that! I saw the topic and knew it was meant to be.

Hunting season is coming up! So at my wifes uncles house, with it being right on the beach, we're really close to the people who are down on the public beach. What better way to start hunting season then with shooting some ducks? I mean they shit all over the water and they actually closed one of the beaches on the lake because of the duck shit and the lack of a current to circulate the water, cleaning it out! I'll teach those ducks a thing or two!

958C079D6E5742EABCA8F8F82A34E905.jpeg

The kid was having a lot of fun playing in the water and saw the wonderful ducks flying by! But what was that BOOM?!?!? Well that was ol' cmplxty hunting down some DINNA! There's nothing better than some delicious duck, if you ask me! I feel bad that it had to do with terrorizing the poor kid and her shattering of what she thought was cute Mr. Ducky but a man's gotta eat!

Plus I disliked that her mom brought a McDonalds cup to the beach, gross!

The detail here is amazing. Such masterful drawing, the way you've captured the scene perfectly.

You've got spent cartridges falling, shot flying up towards the duck, blood dripping and the downward spiral of the duck, plus the ducks crash landing. Spectacular detail.

This, of course, without even mentioning the mummy's ample bosom, and kids awestruck face at seeing a duck...Then seeing it get blasted and the detail captured in that McDonalds cup!

A masterfully captured slice of life here, where each pencil stroke takes the observer a little deeper into the complex process of a child's progression of understanding how the world works.

One minute you're flying high like the duck, the next some fucker shoots you in the fucking ass and you crash to earth and die.

Ah yes, the circle of life.

Nice entry mate, suitability bad drawing, which in this contest makes it good.

P.s. Are you wearing a Cornish pasty on your head? Style innovator mate. Kudos.

!ENGAGE 25

Hahah thanks man, I’m glad you noticed the finer details like the tatas!

The lion king circle of life song was playing in my head while drawing this, I swear.

My choice of cranial decoration was more going for a scali cap, being from Boston and all, we wear them for no reason at all. What better way to hunt than to wear a scali?

That duck and you are connected in the great circle of life...Sometimes things just happen as they are meant to.

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

Interesting scene you have portrayed with this entry. I love it!🥳Hope the kid isn't gonna drown😂

Thanks for checking my comment out!

She won’t drown but she will definitely get splashed with a mixture of lake water, blood and feathers! Her rubber ducky will never be the same after this.

Oh yeah,😂I am really looking forward to that

Photography is a mediation for me so you can find me while taking picture whenever you look at me :) As you you know in every group of friends there is a photographer guy and yes in my country unfortunately it is me. I said unfortunately because when you are photographer guy you can't enjoy the main subject, meals time and everyone wants you to take her/his/them pictures...By time it is getting boring and also exhausting. But even though all I said i like taking pictures...

img_0.6906797638668608.jpg

This is pretty cool, although it's not cool that you miss out on things because you're behind the camera. Someone has to record things though right? And besides, I bet you don't mind so much.

You've done a really good job depicting yourself doing something in your country so thanks for joining in. I hope you also take the time to put a few comments here, on other users comments. It's a good way to engage and start relationships.

Have a great weekend!

dude you look like a wizard.... a wizard with a camera

To be honest I think a bit about drawing a hat or not :))) But isn't the photography a magic my friend? Freezing time in a paper... 🤔

you are truly a wizard then ;)

For a minute there I thought you were drawing this in a Nissan car owners manual, with that word in the top right. Doesn’t appear to be the case though!

I hope you get to enjoy the scenery, especially if the person at the front of the boat is acting like a pirate, swinging his scimitar forward and yelling at the guy driving the boat. That’s hilarious to see, especially when a rogue wave comes and knocks the pirate into the water and he realizes he unfortunately can’t swim. His swashbuckling days are over, weighted down by his scimitar and never washed clothes.

Lol...Actually I don't see it before but if you say so you are right my friend...
I enjoy the scenery all the time but there is unbelievable moisture and also too hot...By the way I take pictures there with my Indiana Jones hat in the drawing and the guy who try to touch the sun thinks he is the sun god but just a member of the tribe...They kidnapped the the newspaper woman that I just met and I try to save her. :)

Well,ok,friends...you catched me...I am Gandalf,The Gray and i like photography :) Especially taking pictures of dragons is my obsession... 🤣🤣🤣

Awesome topic this week, prepare to be horrified at the artistic talent!

Your crab looks like it’s been hitting the gym pretty regularly and doing some forearm work, he’s got some beast muscles on those front claws lol.

I like the shark cloud too, looks like the bird is going to get chomped!

I’m thinking of things to draw, got some ideas floating around!

Yeah, that's Claude, the crab, who is a fairly well known crab around these parts. He hits the gym when he can and clearly the steroids too. I drew him into my picture because he's quintessentially Australian. Everyone knows him. Just ask any Aussie.

Looking forward to your fucked up drawing immensely! The worse it is the better it is! 🙂

Ah, Claude, I met him on a surf trip to Sri Lanka, he's pretty cool but always flexing his muscles to show of for the babes on the beach. They love him but they are bound to end up getting crabs if they screw him.

He gets around old Claude does...He flexes here, he flexes there, that damned Claude the crab flexes everywhere.

Babes be warned, you may get crabs if you rumpy pumpy with Claude

His famous move is to get the babes in doggy, he calls it his Doberman Pincer.

Haha, yeah...So word of his signature move has made it all the way over to America? I'm not surprised really, I mean he's such an iconic Australian, it should come as no surprise that his pincer prowess has gained him notoriety and fame in other countries. I'm just waiting for the movie deal. I wonder who will play the lead...Jean Claw Van Damme? Leonardo di Crabrio?

I heard it was going to be Al Pinchino.

At best you will end up with sore nips.

Before I even think about this contest, I have a comment about YOUR art (and very fine art it is).

Are sharks there like Grizzly Bears here? You don't have to be able to out run the Bear (you can't). You only have to be able to out run one person. I am old and fat which makes me a very popular hiking companion in bear country.

Lol...You've made a very relevant observation...If one is getting attacked by a bear, or a shark for that matter, it's all about diverting its attention to someone else. A slow runner, someone having a picnic near by, a swimmer splashing around...Anyone but yourself.

I guess in your case, because you may be the slow person, you could resort to tripping up a fellow hiker? That'd probably be just as effective.

Here though, sharks tend to prefer tourists so yeah...You're pretty much fucked no matter what. 😂

Ok, not really.

Really.

Ahahahaha. Kind of what I thought. With my luck, I'd miss the tripping because I'd have to do it right away before I fell behind everybody.

I'd probably have a better chance with the Shark. Fat floats and I've always been a strong swimmer. Surely I could get ahead of some one in the water. I'd be in trouble with the bear unless one of the party was in a wheelchair.

Up in the North people finally realized that swimming with Orca with a black wetsuit on was probably not a good idea. The Orcas seemed to think they were seals and they are very high on the Orca like list. Now they wear suits with stripes and stars and stuff on them.

Doesn't matter much. Orcas think that's a seal with funny markings.

Don't worry about sharks, it's Australia. You know how much Aussies love the beach...There's always loads of kids in the water. You'll be fine. 🥴

I reckon those orcas wouldn't mind what they are...Seal, human...Same but different. Lol. But seriously, what idiot gets in with them in a black wetsuit. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Hi I would like to introduce myself, I love to wear black wetsuits and swim with sharks.

Nice to meet you, probably won't know you for long. 😂

I always swim/surf with my mate Andrew Carter from SA they love the taste of him, he's been hit twice by great whites.

WTF did I just read..?

This was a very strange string of comments...

Ending with a "Fart."

Posted using Dapplr

Shark farts are the worse ever...Or so I'm told.

Yes, an interesting comment thread here...But then it's not surprising, the #weekend-engagement is no place for boring shit...It's all about...Well, anything goes really I suppose.

Yes, anything goes I suppose...

Hey! Quick question ya'll...

Are shark farts wet ones.?

I think I just... "Shark Farted?"

20160412_160701.jpg

Easy, just kick your hiking companion in the shin before you run.

Hello everyone, I'm posting my entry quickly.
This year was everything but ordinary, danger is on every corner, so I thought this drawing is appropriate.

img_20200814_162944a.jpg

Here's me, living dangerously 😁 I can do all these things in my country, even more but unfortunately the size of paper and my spare time wasn't enough to draw all the things I could do.

So let's see if you can recognize the activities 😜

Everything looks legit here...Rock climbing, flying fox/zip-lining, hiking over swing-bridges...And...Committing suicide by jumping off a mountain! Legit. Extreme sports are taken pretty seriously your way by the looks of it! Lol.

OK, I guess the one in the bottom left is actually diving or some such...I actually like that one the best though. I like the way you've drawn the figure head first and with zero form happening...Talk about living dangerously. Lol.

Thanks for joining in and taking the time to draw this most excellent masterpiece of extreme and dangerous activities!

!ENGAGE 25

Lol, thank you for summarizing my activity and naming them. I have a confession to make. I didn't know the name of these activities, some of these were unknown to me in English, would have taken me another 10 minutes to research, so the trick worked, you helped me out 😁 😜

Now, Committing suicide by jumping off a mountain! 😲 Lol, that is cliff jumping or base jumping in the water.

I was thinking while drawing, of how many of these activities I would really do in real life. Apart from cliff jumping, I guess the rest would be ok. How about you?

P.S. Hardest drawing contest ever! 😁

I've done some rock climbing, and have walked on many swing-bridges and cat walks...I haven't been on a zip line and base jumping isn't my thing. I went bungee jumping though. Does that count?

lol, it does, I would never do bungee jumping, so you're brave.

It was easy. All I had to was jump. Gravity took care of the rest.

No no no! Not for me.

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

It really demands a lot of adrenaline.

loving the stickman falling off the cliff. or stick woman, its a little hard to tell...

Stick woman with red hair 🤣

Walking between two massive potatoes is dangerous indeed. The bridge is actually made with French fries so you’re overcome with hunger while you’re trying to cross the bridge.

Then zip lining between two heads of lettuce, that’s a tough one indeed. You have to dodge the giant spiders on each side, they live when the tiny humans come directly to them, easy meal!

You must have been hungry when you wrote this comment, everything is about food 🙂

Hahah very possibly I was!

I love that derpy shark so much XD

And youngest loves your rendition of a crab.

Lol...I'm an artistic bastard.

Please enter Ry. Don't make me beg, because I will...

A likely story XP

And this thing is already exploding with comments what do you need me for XD

plus I'm so unreliable atm aaaahhhhh

Derpy... lol

That’s the friendliest looking shark I’ve ever seen 😳🤣

Also familiar with that cartoon.

Oh now then i'm gonna have to think before i get my chalk board out.

Nothing like a bit of thinking before acting...Sometimes it's fun to do it the other way around though. 🥴

Normally always the other way round, i'm showing a bit of control on this one.

OK I can't think what to draw is closer to the truth.

Seriously, you have to think of what to draw?

A quality artist put a lot of thought into their work, i'm having a day of meditation to get me in the right frame of mind. Then my artistic juices will flow.

I can tell, just by your strategy, that you are one of the greats. It's funny though, artist never seem to hit their high-mark until after their demise. Let's hope your brilliance is recognised and rewarded well prior. The first step...G-dog's weekend topic drawing.

Find your true centre Scuba, delve deep within that creative mind of yours and find the inspiration you'll need to come up with your pen-strokes of brilliance.

The world awaits...Scuba Biggy! Sorry, called you Scuba before.

Iv'e found my zen now, i'll flex my creative muscles shortly.

"Find your true centre Scuba." I assume you are not calling me scuba?

Finally! I meet this week Engagement party💥💥💥. I'll be dropping mine in the comment soon 😊 stay tuned 🚴🚴

I'm staying tuned. 🙂

So this is what you were talking about. It's nice, even a no talent in drawing like me can make one. lol

I hope you join in.

Knock it Up to an even 100 Hive Mister Gee Doggy Dog.!

I won this week over on Jaynies Track of the Week

So paying a little forward also from my winning in your last week (ends) competition. I am Fucking Rocking it my Man.!!

2 months ago I started to grow veggies and herbs on my balcony. I never had green fingers and now i'm even using plants I've never heard of. Google is your best friend and now I'm able to harvest and eat 3-4 times a week from what grows on my balcony. It really brings "Zen" into my life, being busy and watching the world go by. In these hard times it's important to find something to relax. Some read a book, others learn a new skill, ... Most important is to find something that suits you and gives you strength. Take care and stay safe everyone!

It's great what we can do with a little bit of effort when it comes to something as easy and wonderful as growing some of our own food isn't it? Nice drawing here!

I discovered a new "me" ... Most people think of Covid and lockdown as a nightmare. For me it has broaden my horizon. I now make my own bread, grow my own plants to feed me. It made me to the person I'm at the moment. And this person is a less material girl and closer to nature.

Absolutely! It’s definitely improved my wife and I’s ability to be self sufficient. We have made a lot of our own foods that we wouldn’t have tried much otherwise. We aren’t lazy people or addicted to take out but making breads and sauces wasn’t something we had time for until this scenario. I’m really glad that you took the opportunity to improve yourself instead of just be scared of it all. You are healthier by doing so!

It's always nice to find like-minded people. These days there is so much negativism and anger around us. Stay positive and enjoy a little things in life like a self made bread :) What's next? Home made jam?

I wish I could have a huge balcony to grow veggies and a stunning view as well.

You don't need a big balcony. Mine is not that huge, but I'm working with a plant rack.

Kamote 03.jpg

The bigger plants like kamote and alugbati i planted in 10L buckets. Works well. I use small pots to start the little plants and when they get bigger I use bigger pots.

I have a balcony and a real garden and have seen the difference between growing veggies in both. I'm not saying it's not possible to grow veggies in the balcony but you're never going to get the same result.

I can imagine. Perfect conditions for plants are a lot of space. Sadly I don't have that option, so I try to make the best out of it. A friend wanted to give me seedlings of certain plants, but I don't see me growing watermelon on my balcony .. or potatoes. But for herbs and small veggies it's perfect. And I also want to make sure I hace a little space left to lounge and relax with my morning coffee while I'm overlooking the bay :)

I envy you for that bay! Last night I posted a few photos about the garden. Have a look at my latest post to see what garden means 😁
