Herold Wines.
Three days ago I wrote a post on the Old Toll House in the Montagu Pass where I mentioned that we found a small wine farm, today I am writing about the wine farm, which really is in the middle of nowhere!!
The small buildings above is where it all happens, this is a real small wine farm and almost everything is done by hand.
In the distance, you can see some vineyards.
Right next to the cellar, they have a small restaurant and shop where you can buy wines and other products!!
Below is vintage wheel barrow, which was used to move the wine barrels around.
Just look at how small this is, these barrels are used for the red wines.
They also have these stainless-steel barrels for the white wines!!
The bottling machine, can only fill 4 bottles at a time!!
The labels are put on by hand!!
We decided to sit outside, rather than in the restaurant to do the tasting as well as to have something to eat!!
Below is some more vineyards.
The photo below is unfortunately not centered, but what is interesting is the volumes of each wine produced, notice the one wine of which only 380 litter was produced. You can also see the prices of the wines at R15.41=$1.00.
We did a lot of tasting and ended up buying quite a few of these wines, which really tasted great!!
