HF25 is around the corner and I am now running v1.25.0 on my main witness. My backup is still running 1.24.2 in case we need to switch back quickly. I'll replay it after the HF.
The core developers made an amazing work that I believe will be a stepping stone for building the great things to come. I've already implemented the new recurrent transfers and collaterized conversion (HIVE to HBD) into Keychain.
I think a HF is also a good time to reflect on the work of witnesses and I ll take some time in the coming weeks to reevaluate my votes.
As for myself, here is my long overdue witness update :
Witness status
As shown here, my witness is currently ranked 21st with 3,920 votes worth ** 90.8 GVests**.
I have only missed 106124blocks in over 3 years and have scripts in place to make sure my witness is disabling itself after missing one in both main and backup servers.
Contributions to Hive
Development
I am a developer so I guess most of you know me for some of the following:
- CEO and Lead developer of Hive Keychain. Keychain is in my opinion instrumental to the growth of dApps on our blockchain and is now the project I'm working on as a priority. Thanks to the DHF support, I am now developing both the extension and a mobile App. Both are opensource and available on Github.
- I publish a development update every week regarding the progress made on Keychain (both for extension and Apps). Follow @keychain to read these updates.
- I plan to release a React Native library to make it easier to develop Hive mobile dApps.
Documentation
- Back in the days, I ve written a pretty useful guide to learn to use steem.js for Javascript development : Steem.js for Dummies. There are 11 different tutorials in this series and they are still relevant for Hive. I plan to make a new series of posts, more up to date and tailored to Hive.
- I wrote a comprehensive guide about how to use Multisig.
DHF
- I have proposed guidelines for funding development through DHF here and am abiding to these guidelines in my work on Keychain.
- I have proposed the idea of a fund to represent HIVE at major blockchain events around the world here. I even prepared a proposal for this but I'm saving it for later due to Covid-19 and related travel bans.
- I have hosted an Elevator Pitch Contest to try and find better ways to pitch Hive in a short time.

Hey buddy. I was poking around the platform. #sangsomsunday ...... that is new to me. I'm here in Thailand doing my travel blog since the pandemic. I've had the chance to enjoy plenty of Sangsom. Is this Thai Rum popular in Taiwan too?

That is very cool brother. I wish I got to talking to you more at both steemfest in Bangkok and Poland. I seemed to hang around more with the travel blogger people as we would talk endlessly about travel and where we are going next.
The tech people like yourself were super nice, but I would sometimes find myself totally lost in conversation. I remember talking to Luke Stokes for a while and suddenly he's going on about Defi, and Dax, interface Daaps, with this codex and that node connected to the PoS and the PoW....... I was like that is all great Luke, but I have no idea what you're talking about! hahaha
So again hats off to you developer guys, takes a special talent to do what you do.
In the mean time how to mix a good rum and coke with some chilled Samsong is more on my level! hahaha
Had no idea you were based out of Taiwan. I visited that country on a visa run out of S. Korea back around 2005. Very developed little spot on the planet. I see why China wants to take it over so badly. Makes me a bit nervous seeing how they seemingly already got Hong Kong, another place I'm very familiar with.
Very good to touch base with you and I'll keep an eye out for your next blog post. I'm sure I will learn something about the blockchain or be very confused.....probably a little of both :)

China is barking for now, but I'm hopeful that they don't want to start WWIII just yet. In the meantime, it's a great place to live, people are awesome, and live is comfortable and cheap (not as much as SEA but still affordable).

It is always asking finger print authentification even if I input the correct pin number. I tried to promote hive in myanmar and hive keychain will play very important role in my plan. Hi! The accounts are encrypted as long as Keychain is locked, so make sure you use a powerful Keychain password and go to settings and change the autolock behavior to lock after a few minutes or when the pc locks.
