A few weeks ago @wolfje , @sirwries and myself @felander have started this witness.
Our goal was to support Steem by bringing a bit more decentralization to our beloved blockchain.
So back then we asked the friends and acquaintances we have made here on Steem if they would support us.
And you did so, massively
So first of all I really want to thank you all for your support in getting this project off the ground.
Not only did you support us, we jumped a lot higher then we had estimated in the beginning which means that now we are:
Acitve witness nr 98
or
Witness nr 118
And first of all I do want to clear up the difference.
there are a few sites where a steemian can see a witness list and I will show the 3 major ones:

this is "the official one" and only shows the top 50 witnesses and the really bad part about this one is that is does not show who is active and who is not. In the top 50 this is not majorly critical except that @wackou has been offline for over 1050 hours (thats a month and a half) and this is not reflected here. So people could be adding their vote to him while not knowing that they are voting for an inactive witness.

this one is a site that people discover when they are diving a little deeper into Steem and try to figure out what is going on and how witnesses work.
here you can see a lot more information like the price feed that the witnesses publish, which hardfork (software version) they are running and what the total amount of votes is they are receiving.
This site also shows you the top 100 instead of the top 50. This also includes inactive ones in the list but at least here one can see that they are inactive because they are colored differently and there exclamation marks.
So since the inactive witnesses are still in the list due to the fact that people are still voting for them (check if you are and if so, please remove your vote and cast for an active witness)

Why is this one my favourite, well its because we are on it...
You can find us on spot 118 but more importantly there is a column next to it that gives the active witnesses and there we have managed to hit spot 98. This site also gives the most info needed to make an educated choice on witnesses as it allows you to see the most stats. (please also research the team/people behind to get a better picture)
Our update for the week
Since we have now reached this esteemed top 100 this means we are now roughly processing 2 blocks per day.
This was for us a break even point and we have now decided to get ourselves another server.
Just running on the one is no longer going to be enough to serve you adequately.
We are getting backup.
Intel® Xeon® Gold 6140
RAM DDR 4 ECC: 64 GB
SSD 240 GB
This will not be a full dedicated server solution that we have chosen for our primary one but this should be adequate as a backup witness server. So hereby I can confirm that we have ordered this server and this is not located in Switzerland for sake of security and redundancy. It is also not hosted with the same company as the first one as an extra measure of security.
So once again we are going a bit into a loss for Steem making this investment. But this will confirm our dedication towards this project and prove our look towards the future.
Once we have hit 3 blocks per day (counting on all your new witnessvotes and continued support) we will take the next step and set up the third crucial witness element, which is a seed node.
