It's A Bird. It's A Plane. Oh, It's Just Nikki Cross!

Don't look now, but the women's division in the WWE has just employed a super hero! Well, almost! On the June 21st edition of Monday Night Raw, Nikki Cross debuted her new persona as Nikki A.S.H., which stands for Almost a Super Hero). In actuality, it is the revival she sorely needed. The worst place for a WWE superstar is to be wandering backstage without a significant storyline. It took awhile for her to be noticed after being brought in from NXT. The Scottish grappler did have a decent run as Alexa Bliss's best friend. After Alexa moved over to the dark side, courtesy of The Fiend, Nikki was dropped like a hot potato, though.

Recently married to Damian Mackle, also known as Killian Dain, Nikki teamed up with Alexa Bliss again to defeat Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler in a Money In The Bank qualifying match. Their relationship was much different this time around because the team combined Nikki's positive message with Alexa and her black magic, or whatever you want to call it.

A previous WWE super hero is currently working for the WWE as a Backstage Producer. Shane Helms, once referred to as "Hurricane" Helms, totally supports Nikki's new character. I have heard rumors that the WWE is planning on bringing Karrion Kross over from NXT and they didn't want two Crosses running around, even though they are spelled differently.

However, most stories I've read indicate that the super hero gimmick is completely Nikki's idea. I am sure it had to be run by Vince. Born Nicola Glencross, Nikki wants to be a positive role model that states you don't have to possess super powers to be anything you want to be. Her newfound positivity is allowing her to rack up the wins also. Once she puts on her mask, cape and gauntlets, she is no longer the jobber who puts other female wrestlers over. Young girls all over the world can now believe that they can achieve anything. I believe in you, Nikki A.S.H.
