As with any beginning endeavour, there are ups and downs before it eventually takes off. Do you have a mentor who can show you the ropes? Maybe give you some tips and tricks to get your out there. Good luck, and you can become as big or bigger than J.K. Rowling.

No, I don't really have a mentor. I've been talking to other self-published (struggling) authors though. It's very much a strong community, helping each other!
I'm just going by trial and error most of the time.
