CHAKRAS (1).jpg

ENGLISH

This will be the seventh and final installment of the program A Path through the Chakras. It is originally in audio-visual format (created by me), and is shared in the form of a workshop in our school Sodhana Yoga. I have adapted the meditations to the blog format with the intention of making it easy to understand and follow.

I hope you enjoy the journey which consists of 8 posts of content about the energy centers, known as Chakras.

When I do this workshop, I try to have the practitioner do the entire journey, divided into one meditation per day or two. And not to be performed in isolation, so below I leave the links to access each of the chakras and thus have concentrated all the information in one place.

POST OF CHAKRAS:

Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

Introductory post: Here.

Post First Chakra: Here.

Post Second Chakra: Here.

Post Third Chakra: Here.

Post Fourth Chakra: Here.

In the case of the fourth chakra, which is Anahata Chakra, it had already been published some time ago, and I only mention it here in case you want to check it out. But I will not publish it again because it seems unnecessary. I invite you to read it in order to continue with the next 3 chakras, which are the chakras of the upper body.

Post Fifth Chakra: Here.

Post Sixth Chakra: Here.

Sahasrara Chakra - The sevenfold Chakra - Crown Chakra

The seventh and final chakra that we will travel through on this journey is called Sahasrara, which translates as the lotus of a thousand petals. It is located in the highest part of the skull, the crown of the head.

It is linked to higher states of consciousness and existence. That is, everything in us that promotes transcendental, conscious, spiritual or liberating thought.

Some of the mental capacities associated with this chakra are consciousness, reasoning, reflective thinking, discernment, empathy and a clear vision of reality.

When the Kundalini energy has removed all the obstacles in its ascending passage through the Central Nadi, finally reaching Sahasrara Chakra, the liberation of all the veils or obstacles that did not allow to fully observe reality occurs.

The Sat Chakra Nirupana calls this state as the State of Emptiness (Sanya Desha).

As always, imbalance can be expressed in different ways, whether it is due to a blockage or an energetic excess.

On the one hand, we find people clinging to cynicism, egoism, detached from their inner truth and there can also be learning problems and lack of inspiration and creativity.

An excess of energy, on the other hand, will show itself as a spiritual quest bordering on the obsessive, often superstitious and causing a total disconnection with the body; feelings of confusion and dissociative experiences.

On balance, the individual becomes aware of his actions in all aspects; physical, verbal and mental. Possesses great reflective thinking and does not seek individual benefit that may affect others, because he/she knows him/herself as part of a whole.

It is associated with the color violet or white, which is the union of all other colors, its musical note is YES, the symbol that represents it is that mandala you see in the picture and although there are many other similar representations, it is always formed by a lotus of hundreds of petals, and particularly this chakra does not have a mantra. When meditating on it, it is done in SILENCE.

Some activities that can help us to balance this chakra are:

  • The practice of Yoga, Pranayama and meditation.

Yoga and meditation, helps a lot because it allows us to develop the physical and mental consciousness.

A natural stone that helps the harmonization of this chakra can be the white quartz.

To cultivate the balance in this chakra from the conscious word, we can keep in mind and repeat as many times as we want, the following statements:

  • I am conscious.
  • I am reflective.
  • I free the mind from conditioning.

Meditation

I recommend you read everything first and then follow the directions.

Sit comfortably in some posture where you can stay long enough without moving. This can be by crossing your legs on the floor, on a cushion, or on a chair with your feet touching the floor.

Do a brief scan of your whole body, starting with your feet and working your way up to your head. Observe each part of your body and relax it, except for your spine which should remain erect.

Breathe softly and deeply relaxing your abdomen but keep your back and neck upright.

Direct your full attention to the nose area and observe carefully the inhale and exhale.

With mindfulness, inhale.
With mindfulness, exhale.

(For 1 minute)

Now, slowly bring your attention to the area at the top of your head and begin to visualize a purple sphere in that area. As you do this you can stare at the image of the Chakra above.

(1 minute)

With each inhalation, the sphere expands.
With each exhalation, the sphere contracts.

With mindfulness, inhale.
With mindfulness, exhale.

(1 minute)

Now, maintaining the visualization of the sphere and feeling with each exhalation that the fire rises up through the spine until it reaches the chakra, close your eyes.

(5 minutes)

Now to finish, slowly and subtly stop the visualization, take three breaths and after that bring your palms together in the center of your chest in prayer posture and connect with the following wish:

That all beings may experience security in their lives, stability and peace. May they all be happy.
