Und die war mehr als enttäuschend.
Vor der Saison wurden die Devils teilweise sogar als Cup Contender gehandelt, soweit bin ich nicht gegangen, aber die Playoffs habe ich auch als sicher angesehen.
Jetzt wurde es Ligaweit gesehen ein 23. Platz, deutlich außerhalb der Playoffränge.
Woran hat es gelegen?
Meiner Meinung nach war es eine Verknüpfung vieler negativen Ereignisse, wie die häufigen Verletzungen von Leistungsträgern, die inferioren Goalie Leistungen und auch das Coaching war des öfteren zu hinterfragen.
Im Prinzip muss man das jetzt einfach abhaken und schauen dass die Fehler für die nächste Saison behoben werden und natürlich darauf hoffen dass der Verletzungsteufel nicht mehr so erbarmungslos zuschlägt.
Bei den Goalis hat sich ja schon etwas getan, ein richtiger 1er wird aber immer noch gesucht, hoffentlich findet sich da im Sommer ein brauchbarer zu einem akzeptablen Preis.
Bei der neu zu besetzenden Stelle des Cheftrainers glaube ich nicht dass Interimstrainer Green die richtige Wahl wäre, einen Neuanfang halte ich für zielführender.
Insgesamt sehe ich aber immer noch großes Potential in der immer noch sehr jungen Truppe, mit den richtigen Veteranenzugängen und etwas mehr Härte halte ich es absolut für möglich dass man in den nächsten Jahren dann mal um den Cup mitspielen kann.
