Don't Regret, Just Be Mindful

I felt the urge to have some outdoor activity today. The plangent roar of my heart beats fast and an adrenaline rush screaming for a walk. Nothing could bear this horrible feeling but craving to escape somewhere could somehow ease this feeling.

Since we were set up to work from home due to the high heat index, I had to cut the housemaid's endeavor to save because of mischievousness. Now, while I'm the one doing everything at home. I must say that it's indeed tiresome lingering in four corners with kids always doing naughty stuff every day. Letting go of stress would make me feel better after.

I opted for a road going to San Jose, which is a part of the municipality of Borbon, next to our residence. It was such an exhilarating day as it was my first time venturing into this place. Seeing other students living here was such a refreshment. I felt happy and put a smile on my face, with that, I was already refreshed.

I've been walking along the road with an intense heat however it doesn't bother me at all. Looking at the sunny blue sky with cotton-like clouds underneath the lush greens in a farmland.

Finally, I reached the shedded part of the road. The coconut trees shed and as I was walking, I was relieved from the humidity. The alluring sight I must not miss was the perfectly arranged palm trees. They're like purposely planted leading the way to a certain magical place.

Asking a few locals I've met, where is his path going? They said, "it's going to a mini waterfall and a river". I was even more ignited hearing that magical term. Hmmmm... "This is so exciting!"

As I went on, those big boulders of rocks had been rooted with plants and even ipil-ipil or "a tropical leguminous shrub". Most numbered plants here are ipil-ipil plants that's why when a local told me to turn left after the second ipil-ipil. I do what he said, and ...

Right before my eyes were the radiant ferns along the river bank. I knew it. IT'S DRY. It's possible because of the heat index and for a long time, NO RAIN.

1000029296.jpg

The excitement turned out to be a sad story of my hike today. A supposed to be "magical" turned into "a garden of sadness". I could never have thought how powerful nature is, it can drought the whole waterfall even a river.

An evidence of dryness from this river. A rock seemed cut into pieces.

A picture of sadness. I felt heartbroken not because I didn't witness a waterfall but because of how pitiful our nature if this temperature continued. Hopefully, we won't come to the point where these plants will turn brown and die soon. How awful that would be.

Oh, wait! I still capture an amount of water from here. Indeed, there's a silver lining even on a hard day.

Take Away🍃🌱

There are times in life that we have to let go of those problems yet we have to face them courageously. To conquer them, we have to equip ourselves and find an outlet to become strong, experienced, and rejuvenated. That when you come back, you can think of positive a desirable decision you could ever think of.

Don't regret, even if your purpose didn't serve, it's still okay. Why? Because you have learned so much from your experience, from that place, explored, and most especially you are refreshed! It's like you're a different person now when you come back.
