Souls-like in its ultimate form ⚔️😱🎮
2024 has been the year that I finally have been able to get into some Souls-like games. Some of them are still too challenging for me, but several have claimed my bleeding heart. This has led me to more and more wish to try Lies of P. I've considered purchasing it on PS5 a few times but said no because there was a high chance the game would be too difficult for me. I was thrilled when I realized that this game is on Xbox Game Pass.
Lies of P is one of the best Souls-like games to release thus far in the opinions of many gamers. It does so many things very well, but also adds in a lot of its own personality to create a balanced experience.
The P in Lies of P stands for Pinocchio. You may think of Disney when you hear Pinocchio, but this game is anything but that cute version of him you are used to. This is a dark and oftentimes scary world teeming with danger around every corner.
There is a nearly endless amount of playstyles you can go with in this game. The weapon customization allows for basically anything you wish for. That is, if you can survive long enough to progress forth and unlock the different weapons and attachments.
I was so nervous to play this game finally. I wanted more than anything to love it, but I also knew there was a high chance that I'd suck at it and quickly give up like I did with Elden Ring and Demon's Souls.
Today I will provide you with my honest thoughts on Lies of P as someone who is still fairly new to Souls-like games. You will indeed learn whether or not the average gamer stands a chance in this game.

I like the gothic aesthetic of this game, it reminds me to Bloodborne.
This is heavily inspired by Bloodborne for sure. It does a great job of distinguishing itself from those inspirations though.
