"The book find"/ “Der Buchfund”

Hello everyone! I hope you have a wonderful Saturday. In today's post I would like to tell you about my book find, which I am very happy about. After doing some errands, I strolled past a bookshop that had a box at the front and was offering cheap books. Completely intuitively, I turned to the box and found the book "Parzival" by Wolfram von Eschenbach. I am a big fan of the Arthurian saga and celebrate the chivalry of these tales as well as their hidden depths of a spiritual component that reminds me of different time streams and their lore.

Hallo zusammen! Ich wünsche euch einen wunderschönen Samstag. In meinem heutigen Beitrag möchte ich euch von meinem Buchfund erzählen, über den ich mich sehr freue. Nach einigen Erledigungen schlenderte ich an einem Buchladen vorbei, der eine Kiste vorne stehen hatte und günstige Bücher anbot. Völlig intuitiv wandte ich mich der Kiste zu und fand das Buch “Parzival” von Wolfram von Eschenbach. Ich bin ein großer Fan der Artus-Saga und feiere die Ritterlichkeit dieser Erzählungen sowie ihre verborgenen Tiefen einer geistigen Komponente, die mich an unterschiedliche Zeitströme und ihre Überlieferungen erinnert.

It is extremely astonishing how divine currents repeatedly come to the fore in many old books. People once tried to nip them in the bud of worthlessness again and again, in order to let the highest kind of apostasy fall on people - similar to a summer storm of demoralisation, perversion and spiritual decomposition. That is why such small but fine books with lyrical German thought and values have a special meaning for me. It is as if I am in another time for a moment while reading and transport myself there - a mental place that I can choose at will.

Es ist höchst erstaunlich, wie in vielen alten Büchern immer wieder göttliche Strömungen zum Vorschein kommen. Man hat einst versucht, sie immer wieder im Keim der Wertlosigkeit zu ersticken, um die höchste Form des Glaubensabfalls über die Menschen hereinbrechen zu lassen - gleich einem Sommergewitter der Demoralisierung, Perversion und geistigen Zersetzung. Deshalb haben solche kleinen, aber feinen Bücher mit lyrischen deutschen Gedanken und Werten für mich eine besondere Bedeutung. Es ist, als wäre ich beim Lesen für einen Moment in einer anderen Zeit und würde mich dorthin versetzen - ein geistiger Ort, den ich nach Belieben wählen kann.

The introduction describes "Parzival" as a substantial work of the Middle Ages in German, and I can only agree. It is a legendary, world-embracing epic that epitomises profound questing. Despite all reverence for the divine, nothing human remains alien here. The story takes us into the world of the chivalrous saints who take up the fight against the spreading threat in the land in place of the reigning king in Rome, who remains mute and inactive.
Yes, that sounds like an exciting epic full of German poetry! I haven't quite finished the book yet, but I have to say that I find it very interesting how this book caught my attention. And at an unbeatable price of 2 euros!

Die Einleitung beschreibt “Parzival” als ein gehaltvolles Werk des Mittelalters in deutscher Sprache, und ich kann dem nur zustimmen. Es handelt sich um ein sagenumwobenes, weltumspannendes Epos, das tiefgründiges Suchertum verkörpert. Trotz aller Ehrfurcht vor dem Göttlichen bleibt hier nichts Menschliches fremd. Die Erzählung führt uns in die Welt der ritterlichen Heiligen, die anstelle des in dumpfer Tatenlosigkeit verharrenden regierenden Königs in Rom den Kampf gegen die sich ausbreitende Bedrohung im Land aufnehmen.
Ja, das klingt nach einem aufregenden Epos voller deutscher Dichterkunst! Ich habe das Buch noch nicht ganz zu Ende gelesen, aber ich muss schon loswerden, dass ich es sehr interessant finde, wie dieses Buch mich aufgespürt hat. Und das zu einem unschlagbaren Preis von 2 Euro!
