The Word of God is Life, John 8:63. The Word of God is the bread of life, John 8:12. The Word of God is Light, John 1:5
Matthew 28:19-20 (KJV) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
When we listen to the teachings of the Word of God, our spirits receive life. This is the life that Jesus came to give, John 10:10. The Word that we listen to enlightens our path. Receiving invitation to come and listen to the teachings of the doctrines of Jesus Christ is the greatest gift one could give you. There are numerous benefits when we hear God's Word and live according to the commandments thereof.
We Are Enlightened
The Bible says that the entrance of God’s Word gives light. This is the true light that enlightens everyone who comes into the world. Through the unveiling of the truth in God's word, our spirit receives the truth which is capable of setting us free from every bondage.
We Are Saved From The Traps Of False Teachers
2 Peter 2:1 (KJV) But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
There are many false teachers in the world. They are deceiving many people out of the true way of God. They propound doctrines out of their greed and lust. They teach for doctrines the traditions of men. When we get to know the true doctrines of Jesus Christ from the Bible, we will be delivered from the claws of false teachers.
We Become Members Of The Body Christ
Through the listening of the Word of God, we understand the truth and when we receive the doctrines and believe in Jesus, we become members of the church of God. The church of God is the body of Christ. This is the body that will be raptured at the end.
Acts 20:28 (KJV) Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
