IMG_3887.jpg

Samara region, village Sukhaya Vyazovka. The brick church here was built in 1825. It was illuminated in honor of the Great Martyr Demetrius of Thessalonica. Later, the building was rebuilt several times, expanding it. In 1925, the temple was closed, and as locals say, there is a legend that the priest’s family was shot near the walls of this temple. All church supplies, icons, etc. were taken away. The building stood abandoned for a long time until it was converted into a granary. In the early 90s, the temple was returned to the Russian Orthodox Church, and the restoration process began, which continues to this day.
