"Brown Pelican"

Good morning Hive family and all the photographers lovers around the world, what I got here for you all today are these new shots of these Brown Pelican's while I was down at the wash by the beach, one of my favorite locations to capture some birds. I'll do a two post on these through the weeks as I travel so stay tuned in if your enjoying coming to my blog daily. Now what I like about the Brown Pelican's is when its mating season, the colors change on them and they look so awesome in my opinion, now I'm not sure if it is the male or female that has the coolest colors, normally the male when it comes to birds but I am not sure. Well this one kind of shows some really cool colors, the cover shot above is awesome. As you can see in the face, some red and pink colors with the whites etc just makes this bird look so cool to me. I do have more from another location that will be someday as well, those are cool, got a spot looking level and down on them, so I got to get to those edits some day. My only complaint on this cover shot, which is not the shot but just that moment is I wish the water line and the mud line from where the water receded, I just wish it wasn't where the bird is preferable above it would of been better but you cant choose the in flight scene, you just snap away and hope you get good shots. Its all good though because I like this shot a lot, so lets move on from it, Haha. Now the second shot below, is one coming in, you can see less color in the face, male or female I suppose I should do some digging and figure that one out but this shot is cool as it came into for the landing. Fun fact on the Brown Pelican versus the White Pelican. The Brown Pelicans dive for their fish, as the White ones just float and scoop no diving. Pretty interesting that they are different and I always wonder why.
Now for the last shot here, so cool and was the next good picture taken after the one above and I just love the way the water splash is in this shot. Pretty cool when you get the clarity of the water in shots, not so cool when they don't. To be honest any of the three could be the highlighted cover shot but I suppose it doesn't matter, you get to see them all anyways while going though my post with ramblings, haha. Nice shots. We just moved to Florida, and saw these on our first several trips to the beach. Not up close yet, but I love the way they come gliding across with several in formation, like planes coming into a landing strip together. Can't wait to get out with camera and catch some in flight like your first pic.
