What is art? Most people think art is a beautiful masterpiece without any flaws, but for me, art is something I can use to express my inner self. Art doesn't need to be beautiful and perfect because arts can take any form. Hello there! It's me, @phoenixx09, and welcome to my blog! Today, allow me to share with you my experience as I get deeper into art.

these are some work of my relatives that I got online

My family and relatives are into art, so I would say it's already in our blood, but there's no such talent that isn't sharpened. We all go through it from the start. One of my cousins actually won first place in the RSPC this year, and she's competing for nationals. I really saw her process for what she is right now and her dedication to her hobbies to keep on practicing, which is so . Her drawing is so good that it almost looks like it was printed. Most importantly, she is one of the reasons why I started drawing.

I started drawing when I was in kindergarten because my teacher chose me to be a representative in poster making. I was really drawn into this because I was able to get first place in our city with the thing I work hard for. I was really happy, but later on (grade 2), I was discouraged because I found someone who was much better than me, and they chose him to be representative. His art was really good, and I really admire his skills. Since then, I have stopped and focused on playing chess. But at the same time, that guy was also interested in chess, which made me really competitive with him
(╥﹏╥). But I'll talk more about that story in my next blog.

So time skips back to my experience in grade 5, and I have the courage again to draw because of my teacher. He motivated me to do a lot of things, which became my passion. He teaches me the basics of how to draw, play ukelele, and play chess, and most importantly, he's the one who got me to love math. My older sister was in grade 7 at the time, and she leaves school around 5 while I was dismissed at 4, so basically, in order for me to not get bored, my teacher keeps me company and teaches since their dismissal is also around 5. If I'm going to be honest, I'm really looking forward to going to school now. He really supported me and got me into different kinds of contests, which I was really grateful for. You might be wondering if there is no teacher like this, and yeah, he's not just any teacher; he's related to my grandma, which I didn't know until I was in high school.

Along my journey, I met a lot of people who helped me and even gave me challenges. It was pandemic at that time, so I started doing different things and trying to find my taste. I keep on practicing, but I only practice the upper part of the anime body. I really love watching anime and I want to learn to draw this, so that I can be able to draw my favourite character one day. I don't know how to draw my own character, though. I just keep drawing based on references and can't even draw my own character, lol. Later on, in grade 9, I found out I'm into painting. I really didn't expect this, since I only practice drawing anime, not knowing that I'm more into background style than characters. Since then, I switched and practiced painting (≧▽≦).

So far, I am literally trying different things with painting and how things work. For me, the difficulty is the same in drawing since you need to balance the amount of paint so that the paper won't tear or the paint is detailed and does not smudge. There's also a lot to consider when doing this, especially when you're using acrylic paint. Because these paints easily dry out when put in a palette🎨. But later on, I discovered that you need a wet palette to handle acrylic paint because when this paint gets on a surface, it starts evaporating, which causes it to dry out faster. In order to avoid this, you need something to cool the bottom of the paint, and that's where a wet palette is created. You just need two simple things. That is parchment paper and tissue paper.

The tissue paper comes at the bottom, and you put some water in it to wet it, then dispose of the excess water. After that, add your parchment paper at the top, and there you have it, a DIY wet palette.

But today I was thinking of going back to drawing. What would you say? Should I try it again? It's been a year since I practiced it, though, since I just mostly doodled. What if I challenge myself to be able to draw my own character? Please let me know (◠‿◕). Anyway, thank you for reading this far. I really appreciate it. Have a good day ahead, and see you next time! ^•^♡
