Among the mountains of the municipality of Guanta in the state of Anzoátegui is a circuit of waterfalls from the San Nicolás River, which later feeds recreational parks.

Another site we visited were the Rolando caves, this place is located very close to the waterfall 7 floors, making a walk of about 30 minutes approximately; in total there are 2 caves that bear the name of the Venezuelan military and political leader "Nicolas Rolando Monteverde" who is said to have a farm in the vicinity of the place and used them as a hideout in his fight against the Castro government.
Otro sitio que visitamos fueron las cuevas de Rolando, este lugar se encuentra muy cerca de la cascada 7 pisos, haciendo una caminata de unos 30 min aproximadamente; en total son 2 cuevas que llevan el nombre del caudillo militar y político venezolano "Nicolás Rolando Monteverde" quien se dice tenía una hacienda en las inmediaciones del lugar y las utilizó de escondite en su lucha contra el gobierno de Castro.
The "wet cave" has a stream inside it that runs almost the entire route, it is said that this extends more than five meters in its path, we only knew the first part.
La “cueva mojada” tiene un riachuelo dentro de ella que recorre casi toda la ruta, se dice que esta se extiende a más de cinco metros en su trayecto, nosotros solo conocimos la primera parte.
On the other hand, the "dry cave" is a little wider inside, but you have to go through a completely dark part full of guacharos to reach an area known as "The Church" because the upper part allows light to enter through different holes in the rock, creating the effect of reflection in the rest of the cave.
This site is ideal for the practice of speleology or as we did: in a guided excursion with guides and local guides.
Por su parte la “cueva seca” es un poco más amplia en su interior, pero hay que atravesar una parte completamente oscura y llena de guacharos para poder llegas a una zona conocida como “La Iglesia” debido a que en su parte superior permite la entrada de luz a través de distintos orificios en la roca, creando ese efecto de reflejo en el resto de la cueva.
Este sitio es ideal para la práctica de espeleología o en su defecto como lo hicimos nosotros: en excursión dirigida con guías y baqueanos de la zona.
