Welcome to the second continuation of the journey around two small rivers in the eastern part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. Today we will stop in the former mining town of Oslavany, wander around the river Oslava and end the journey in Náměšť nad Oslavou. So let's go on an adventurous journey through a little wilderness that ended up being a big adventure.
Vítejte u druhého pokračování z cesty kolem dvou malých říček ve východní části Českomoravské vysočiny. Dnes se zastavíme v bývalém hornickém městečku Oslavany, zatouláme do okolí říčky Oslavy a cestu zakončíme v Náměšti nad Oslavou. Pojďme se tedy vydat na dobrodružnou cestu malou divočinou, která se nakonec stala velkým dobrodružstvím.
In the morning, I woke up around sunrise, but the clouds started to gather from the east, so the interesting sunrise did not take place. So I quickly packed up and headed to the town of Oslavany, where I planned to buy something for breakfast. First, I had to pass through the former industrial zone, where there used to be a coal-fired power plant and the city had been mining coal since the 18th century. After mining ceased in 1986, the town essentially died and is beginning to revive thanks to tourism focused on the history of coal mining.
Ráno jsem se probudil kolem východu slunce, jenže od východu se začaly stahovat mraky a tak se zajímavý východ nekonal. Tak jsem se rychle zabalil a vyrazil do města Oslavany, kde jsem plánoval koupit si něco k snídani. Nejprve jsem musel projít bývalou industriální zónou, kde bývala uhelná elektrárna a město se živilo těžbou uhlí již od 18. století. Po ukončení těžby v roce 1986 město v podstatě umřelo a začíná ožívat díky turistickému ruchu zaměřeného na historii těžby uhlí.
At the bus station, I bought breakfast at a local bakery and continued exploring the city. When I reached the local castle.
U autobusového nádraží jsem si koupil snídani v místní pekárně a pokračoval v průzkumu města. Až jsem došel k místnímu zámku.
From the castle I continued to the river Oslava, following which I continued upstream towards the wilderness. After a few hundred meters, the real wilderness began, when I had to walk on a rock above the river. To return after a while to the wide valley.
Od zámku jsem pokračoval k řece Oslavě, podle které jsem pokračoval proti proudu směrem do divočiny. Po pár stovkách metrů, začala opravdová divočina, kdy jsem musel jít po skále nad řekou. Abych se po chvíli vrátil do širokého údolí.
On one of the maintained meadows, I came across a dry toilet, which definitely came in handy at the time. I inspected the old willows and continued around the river to Beranuv pramen (the Ram's Spring).
Na jedné z udržovaných luk jsem narazil na suchý záchod, který se rozhodně v tu chvíli hodil. Prohlédl si staré vrby a pokračoval kolem řeky k Beranovu prameni.
Where I replenished my water supply and began to climb the hill further away from the river.
Kde jsem doplnil zásoby vody a začal stoupat do kopce dále od řeky.
At the top, the landscape changed. There were mainly oak forests with forest pines on rocky spurs. The views from the rock outcroppings were perfect. And as a bonus, I had the whole place to myself because I hadn't met a single person so far.
Na vrcholu se krajina změnila. Byly zde převážně doubravy s lesními borovicemi na skalnatých ostrozích. Výhledy ze skalních výběžků byli perfektní. A jako bonus jsem měl celé místo jen pro sebe, protože doposud jsem nepotkal jediného člověka.
Looking on the opposite side of the Oslava valley, it was possible to see the largest nuclear power plant in the Czech Republic, which at the time supported the formation of clouds from the cooling towers.
Při pohledu na opačnou stranu než je údolí Oslavy, bylo možné vidět největší jadernou elektrárnu v ČR, která tou dobou podporovala tvorbu mraků z chladících věží.
I continued further to a place called Velká skála (401m) from where there was a view of the valley with the river deep below the rock. There was also a fireplace here, where I made a tiny fire to roast my sausage and continue on in 15 minutes.
Pokračoval jsem dále až k místu, které se jmenuje Velká skála (401m) odkud byl výhled na údolí s řekou hluboko pod skálou. Bylo zde ohniště , kde jsem si udělal malinkatý ohýnek, abych si opekl klobásu a za 15 minut pokračoval dále.
The entire valley was once lined with many castles. Today there are only ruins of them, but there are really many of them here. I only saw one from my side of the river. And his name was Levnov.
Celé údolí bylo kdysi lemováno mnoha hrady. Dnes jsou z nich pouze zříceniny, ale je jich zde opravdu dost. Já jsem viděl pouze jeden z mé strany řeky. A ten se jmenoval Levnov.
From the view of the ruins, I continued down to the river again, where I had to overcome another difficult section around the rocks, and after a while I would again climb to the upper edge of the valley.
Od výhledu na zříceninu jsem pokračoval opět dolů k řece, kde jsem musel překonat další obtížný úsek kolem skal, bych zase po chvíli stoupal na horní okraj údolí.
Around noon, Mamut called me that he was free and where he was going. He told me that it was raining at their construction site. He was about 50 km west of where I was. We agreed to meet in Náměšť at the train station. As soon as I put the phone down it started to rain. Completely unexpected for me. Rain come from the east. And that was the most beautiful and most challenging part of the whole trip.
Kolem poledne mi zavolal Mamut, že už má volno a kam má přijet. Řekl mi že u nich na staveništi prší. Byl asi 50 Km západně než jsem se nalézal já. Dohodli jsme se, že se sejdeme v Náměšti na nádraží. Jakmile jsem položil telefon začalo pršet. Pro mě naprosto nečekaně od východu. A to mě čekala nejkrásnější a nejnáročnější část celého výletu.
The rain was quite heavy, it reminded me of the monsoon rains from the movie Forrest Gump. My waterproof clothing, which was supposed to withstand 10,000-20,000 millimeters of rain, was completely soaked within 20 minutes. It was simply impossible to control the touch phone. And basically, one photograph I took in this rain was a hunting lodge on Vlčí kopec.
Déšť byl dost hustý, připomínal mi monzunové deště z filmu Forrest Gump. Moje nepromokavé oblečení, které mělo snést 10000-20000 milimetrů srážek bylo během 20 minut totálně promočené. Ovládat dotykový telefon bylo naprosto nemožné. A v podstatě jedinou fotografii co jsem pořídil v tomto nečase byl lovecký zámeček na Vlčím kopci.
The Divoká Oslava (Wild Celebration) National Nature Monument begins below Vlčí kopec. Which is basically a primeval forest with many valleys and streams in the way. I stopped at one of the waterfalls and tried to take a picture of it as quickly as possible before continuing on. With this step, I essentially sacrificed the main camera for the next few days. Because then it stopped working.
Pod Vlčím kopcem začíná Národní Přírodní Památka Divoká Oslava. Což je v podstatě prales s mnoha údolími a potoky v cestě. Zastavil jsem se u jednoho z vodopádů a zkusil jsem ho co nejrychleji vyfotit, abych mohl pokračovat dále. Tímto krokem jsem v podstatě obětoval hlavní foťák na další dny. Protože pak přestal fungovat.
I continued on from the waterfall. Every moment I almost stepped on a Spotted Newt and slowly began to fight hypothermia. Until I finally arrived at the Gloriet Gazebo. Where I decided to make hot tea and change my socks to waterproof ones.
Od vodopádu jsem pokračoval dále. Každou chvíli jsem málem šlápl na Mloka Skvrnitého a pomalu začínal bojovat s podchlazením. Až jsem nakonec dorazil k vyhlídkovému altánu Gloriet. Kde jsem se rozhodl si uvařit horký čaj a vyměnit ponožky za nepromokavé.
The rain eased slightly and I received information that Mamut will arrive in Náměšť nad Oslavou at 15:40. The map showed me that I should come approximately 15 minutes later.
Déšť se lehce zmírnil a dostal jsem informaci, že Mamut dorazí do Náměšti nad Oslavou v 15:40. Mě mapa ukazovala, že bych měl dorazit přibližně o 15 minut později.
For the last time, I had to go down to the river to continue along the Zňátecký stream to Náměšť. There were places where the creek was crossed, already on the edge of safety, but I knew I had to do it now or I'd be stuck here for another day.
Naposledy jsem musel sestoupit dolu k řece, abych podél Zňáteckého potoka pokračoval dále k Náměšti. Místy bylo překročení potoka, již na hranici bezpečnosti, ale věděl jsem, že musím teď, nebo zde uvíznu na další den.
I arrived at the agreed places about 3 minutes after Mamut. I chose the restaurant U Cafourků, which turned out to be the best pub in town where you can eat and drink well and cheaply. After a meal and a few beers we headed into town to look around the racing depot. It was already quite lively here.
Na smluvené míst jsem dorazil asi 3 minuty po Mamutovi. Vybrali jsem restauraci U Cafourků, což se ukázalo jako nejlepší hospoda ve městě kde se může člověk kvalitně a levně najíst a napít. Po jídle a několika pivech jsme vyrazili do města podívat se po závodním depu. Zde bylo již poměrně živo.
I met several friends from the days, when I was engaged in amateur hill climbing. So the visit to the racing depot was extended for a longer period of time. As soon as the sun started to set, it was time to go back into the forest to find a place to sleep near the race track. Unfortunately, this trip ends here. The plan was to have one more day from the race, but since the camera stopped cooperating, I don't have a single photo from the race. At least I enjoyed the race just as a spectator after a long time.
Potkal jsem několik známých z dob, kdy jsem se věnoval amatérskému závodění do vrchu. Takže se návštěva závodního depa protáhla na delší dobu. Jakmile začalo zapadat slunce byl čas vyrazit opět do lesa najít nějaké místo na spaní nedaleko závodní tratě. Bohužel zde tento výlet končí. V plánu byl ještě jeden den a to ze závodů, ale vzhledem, že foťák přestal spolupracovat, ze závodů nemám jediné foto. Alespoň jsem si po dlouhé době užil závody jen jako divák.
