In the greenhouse

It's time to go flower shopping and get all my pots and planters filled with colorful annuals. I'm quite lucky to get so much help from my family to get my deck looking beautiful!

Urhausen greenhouse has been a family owned business since 1922. They grow all their own flowers, vegetables and herbs in their 9 greenhouses.

Inside, the greenhouse has a fabulous smell to it – a mix of pungent tomato leaves, flower fragrances and the earthy smell of moist compost warmed by the sun.

I need a mixture of plants that will grow well in sun, and also others that will thrive in shade. There are so many beautiful choices, but definitely more plants that like full sun.

I think everyone comes out with more plants than they intended! Now to get them planted, keep them well watered and enjoy a colorful summer out on my deck!

What a nice place! It's nice to see places like those where they do all of their own planting so you know you what you are buying. I've seen so many that stock plants that were shipped in from elsewhere and they have no idea what variety of the vegetable or peppers are. I hope you stocked up on some good plants!

I still have room for a few more, but most of the planting is done! It is so much nicer to shop here than it is in the garden department of the big box stores.

Those flower beds look sooo beautiful and these green houses are so big.😊 It's like a perfectly designed shopping complex, once you come inside, there is no question of leaving without buying anything.😅
